Bongbong Marcos inilipat sa August 23 ang Ninoy Aquino Day
INILIPAT ni Pangulong Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. ang petsa ng pagdiriwang ng special non-working holiday na Ninoy Aquino Day.
Mula sa orihinal na petsa nitong August 21 (Miyerkules), iniurong ito sa August 23 (Biyernes).
Base sa Proclamation No. 665, sa halip na sa Miyerkules, gugunitain ang Ninoy Aquino Day ay inilipat ang holiday sa Biyernes para sa long weekend.

“In order to provide for a longer weekend thereby promoting domestic tourism, the celebration of Ninoy Aquino Day may be moved from 21 August 2024 (Wednesday) to 23 August 2024 (Friday), provided that the historical significance of Ninoy Aquino Day is maintained,” saad sa proklamasyon.
“NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND R. MARCOS, JR., President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, do hereby declare Friday, 23 August 2024, as a special (non-working) day throughout the country.”
Idinideklarang national holiday ang Agosto 21 bilang paggunita sa anibersaryo ng kamatayan ni dating Senador Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino Jr. na yumao noong Agosto 21, 1983.
