Jomari Yllana kinarir ang pagratsada ng Motorsport Carnivale 2023; Richard Gomez, Matteo Guidicelli bibigyan ng special award

KUNG wala nang magiging problema, isa sa magiging highlight ng “Motorsport Carnivale 2023” sporting event ay ang reunion ng original members ng grupong Gwapings.
Of course, ang tinutukoy namin ay ang tatlong Gwapings na talaga namang sumikat noon nang bonggang-bogga – sina Jomari Yllana, Eric Fructuoso at Mark Anthony Fernandez.
Ang “Motorsport Carnivale” ay in-organize ni Parañaque City Councilor Jomari na nag-flag off na kahapon, August 2, sa Boardwalk ng Okada Manila, at matatapos sa Linggo, August 6.
Kuwento ni Jomari sa naganap na media launch para sa kanilang motorsport event kamakalawa na ginanap sa Glass ballroom ng Okada Manila, inimbita niya sina Eric at Mark Anthony para muli silang magkasama-sama makalipas ang mahabang panahon.

Sasamantalahin na rin daw nila ang pagkakataon para mapag-usapan na ang matagal na nilang pinapangarap na reunion movie ng Guwapings.
Samantala, ibinalita rin ni Jom na excited na siya sa mga pasabog na kaganapan sa “Motocross Carnivale 2023” kung saan mahigit 50 racers ang sasali sa Philippine Rallycross Series pa-Tarlac at pabalik ng Boardwalk sa Okada Manila.
Sa Autocross Race naman sa darating na Linggo, inaasahang more than 150 sasakyan ang sasabak sa race.
“Doon sa mga medyo inabot ang panahon ng ‘70s and ’80s, during that time, ‘no, we flag off all the rally events in Greenhills area dati.
“So now, we’re doing it here. Flag off and tuluy-tuloy ang karera nila somewhere in Tarlac. And then babalik sila ng Sunday. They’ll be battling it out for days. Babalik sila ng Sunday. Ia-award natin silang lahat ng Sunday, the winners, ‘no.
“And then they have a break on Thursday. Friday, we have a group gathering in memory of Eduardo del Rosario, founder ng Cavite Auto Racing Team.

“On Saturday we have esc, and we have a drifting exhibition. Whole day din yan. And then on Sunday, we have Philippine Auto Cross Championship. Competing, it will be on the Boardwalk. Lahat naman ito, sa Boardwalk,” pahayag ni Jom.
“Ang tao, ang spectator at saka ang competition, hindi natin maisabay iyan sa isang lugar, ‘no. So all the events will be in Boardwalk. Ang spectators natin will be in the view deck ng Garden. Sa Garden yan,” aniya pa.
Ang mas bongga pa, free admission ito at may pa-snacks pa, “Wala tayong sisingilin. So pagpasok nila ng Okada, magpa-park lang sila. And then, dun sila sa view deck, they can enjoy everything there.
“So hoping for good weather. Ako, isa lang yung wish ko, yung parang ano… parang pantasya. Na sana may sunset. Napakaganda ng sunset ng Manila Bay. I can say it’s the most beautiful sunset in the world.
“Kaya namin tinayming ng alas sais. Gusto namin ng sunset, paglubog ng araw, flag off na,” aniya pa sabay pasalamat sa local government ng Parañaque City na talaga namang 100% ang support sa “Motorsport Carnivale 2023.”
May mga artista bang magdyo-join sa karera? “Sa competitions, we have a few. We have a few celebrities still competing. I’m not sure lang yung line-up natin with Philippine Rally and Autocross, I’m sure there’s a few.
“We have a long list of competitors na coming from showbiz. Kalat-kalat yung categories. Until we see yung naka-enlist sa competition, that’s the only time we can tell na pumasok sila, sasali sila. My eldest, Andre will compete in the Autocross,” aniya pa.

Magbibigay din sila ng special awards during the event, kabilang na ang mga kilalang racers na sina Matteo Guidicelli, Michele Bumgarner at Congressman Richard Gomez.
“Special awards will be given. Matteo Guidicelli, for everything that he was able to achieve and contribute sa motorsports ng Pilipinas. Malaki yun pero kadalasan, bulong lang, di ba? Napag-uusapan lang nung nakakaintindi. Before yung stardom ni Matteo, he was a big, big part.
“Another one is Michele Bumgarner. Retired. Very, very high level…celebrity din pero alam mo yun. Lastly, Congressman Richard Gomez will be given a special award also for… lahat ng achievements nila, contribution.
“Goma was very, very big… during the ’90s, and of course lahat ng racing events, and also yung achievements niya as a champion, as a karter. Matteo and Goma were great champions,” sey pa ni Jomari.
Sa huli, sinabi pa ni Jomari kung bakit kinarir niya ang pagbuo ng Motorsport Carnivale, “We want to encourage audiences, families, to come and watch this event as a fun family festival that they can look forward to every year.”
