‘Bagong Pilipinas’ hymn, pledge required na sa mga gov’t agency, school

REQUIRED na sa government offices at public schools ang pagkanta ng “Bagong Pilipinas” hymn, pati na rin ang pagbigkas ng pledge nito.

‘Yan ay base sa Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 52 ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos.

Ayon sa kautusan, ito ay para maitanim ang prinsipyo ng Bagong Pilipinas brand ng governance at leadership pagdating sa state personnel at mga empleyado.

Sakop niyan ang lahat ng national government agencies and instrumentalities, kasama ang government-owned and -controlled corporations (GOCC), pati na rin ang educational institutions kabilang na ang state universities and colleges (SUC).

Bukod diyan, hinihikayat din ang mga lokal na pamahalaan o LGU na isama ito sa kanilang weekly flag ceremonies.

Ang nasabing circular ay pinirmahan ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin at ito ay agad na ipatutupad.

“For this purpose, the heads of all national government agencies and instrumentalities shall ensure that the Bagong Pilipinas hymn and pledge, which are annexed to this circular, are properly disseminated within their respective institutions and offices,” sey ni Bersamin.

Sa nabanggit na direktiba, ginamit ni Pangulong Marcos ang Republic Act No. 8491 o ang Flag and Heraldic Code of the Philippines na nire-require ang lahat ng government agencies at LGUs na magsagawa ng flag-raising rites tuwing Lunes at pagbaba ng bandila tuwing Biyernes.

Sa ilalim din ng batas, may pahintulot ang Office of the President na maglabas ng mga alituntunin at patnubay para sa wastong pagsasagawa ng flag ceremonies.

“Bagong Pilipinas is characterized by principled, accountable and dependable government, reinforced by unified institutions of society [and] envisioned to empower Filipinos to support and participate in all government efforts in an all-inclusive plan towards deep and fundamental social and economic transformation in all sectors of society and government,” paliwanag ng presidente.

Samantala, may iilang government officials ang tila hindi sang-ayon sa bagong protocol na ito ng Marcos Administration.

Katulad ni Sen. JV Ejercito na ang sinabi ay: “Lupang Hinirang, Panatang Makabayan and Panunumpa sa Watawat are more than enough to instill nationalism and love for country.”

Dagadag pa niya, “Adding a hymn and another pledge will already be too much.”

May komento rin si House Deputy Minority Leader France Castro: “Instead of coming up with these gimmicks, the Marcos administration should be taking this time to think of solutions that would address the citizens’ problems of low workers’ pay and the high cost of goods.”

“They should be helping the drivers and operators who would lose their livelihood and create quality regular jobs in the country,” aniya pa.
