NGAYONG buwan ng Agosto, maraming pelikula nanaman ang pwedeng i-movie marathon…because why not, ‘diba?
Kaya heto ang ilan sa mga upcoming movies na aarangkada sa mga lokal na sinehan:
‘It Ends With Us’
Kiligin and at the same time ay ma-broken hearted sa pelikulang “It Ends With Is” na pinagbibidahan nina Blake Lively, Justin Baldoni, Brandon Sklenar at Jenny Slate.
Ang kwento nito ay hango sa nobela ng best-selling author na si Colleen Hoover.

Nakatakdang ipalabas ang pelikula sa darating na August 7.
‘The Roundup: Punishment’
Dadalhin naman sa Pilipinas ang second biggest 2024 film to-date ng South Korea!
Ito ang “The Roundup: Punishment” na bibida sa big screen sa August 14.
Tampok riyan ang Korean-American actor na si Don Lee bilang si Ma Seok Do a.k.a “monster cop” na may misyong patumbahin ang ilang grupo ng mga kriminal na nag-o-operate sa labas ng Korea.
“Known for his powerful punches that earned him the nickname ‘monster cop’, Seok Do and his ragtag crew dive deep into the world of digital crimes resulting in new alliances as he learns more about the worldwide dark web,” saad sa inilabas na synopsis ng Black Cap Pictures.
Ito na ang ikaapat na installment ng nasabing action movie.
‘Harold and the Purple Crayon’
Kakaibang adventure ang ibabandera ng Hollywood stars na sina Zachary Levi at Zooey Deschanel sa “Harold and the Purple Crayon” na mapapanood sa August 21.
Ito ang kauna-unahang film adaptation ng 1995 children’s classic book na may kaparehong titulo na isinulat ng American cartoonist na si Crockett Johnson.
Tungkol ito sa bidang si Harold na may taglay na superpowers gamit ang kanyang purple crayon.
“Adventurous Harold (Zachary Levi) can make anything come to life simply by drawing it. After he grows up and draws himself off the book’s pages and into the physical world, Harold finds he has a lot to learn about real life – and that his trusty purple crayon may set off more hilarious hijinks than he thought possible,” kwento ng Columbia Pictures.
Dagdag pa, “When the power of unlimited imagination falls into the wrong hands, it will take all of Harold and his friends’ creativity to save both the real world and his own.”
‘Blink Twice’
Sa August 21 na rin ipapalabas ang psychological thriller film ng engaged couple na sina Channing Tatum at Zoë Kravitz –ang “Blink Twice.”
Ito ang directorial debut ni Zoë, habang ang kanyang fiance na si Channing ang bibida rito kasama ang English actress na si Naomi Ackie.
“When tech billionaire Slater King (Channing Tatum) meets cocktail waitress Frida (Naomi Ackie) at his fundraising gala, sparks fly. He invites her to join him and his friends on a dream vacation on his private island. It’s paradise. Wild nights blend into sun soaked days and everyone’s having a great time,” sey sa pahayag ng Warner Bros. Pictures.
Ani pa, “No one wants this trip to end, but as strange things start to happen, Frida begins to question her reality. There is something wrong with this place. She’ll have to uncover the truth if she wants to make it out of this party alive.”
‘Look Back’
Kwento ng pagkakaibigan ang masasaksihan sa anime adaptation na “Look Back” na mapapanood sa August 28.
Base ito sa award-winning manga na may parehong titulo na isinulat ni Tatsuki Fujimoto, ang creator din ng sikat na manga series na “Chainsaw Man.”
Ang magbibigay-buhay sa mga bidang karakter ay ang Japanese stars na sina Mizuki Yoshida at Yūmi Kawai.
Saad sa synopsis ng Encore Films:
“‘Look Back’ is a heart-wrenching and impactful story of growing up, a story about the overly confident Fujino and the shut-in Kyomoto, who couldn’t be more different. Their love of drawing manga is the one thing connecting these contrary girls. One day, however, something happens to them that shatters everything…”
‘Real Life Fiction’
Siyempre, may local film din na babandera sa mga sinehan this month!
Ito ang Philippine-produced English language film na “Real Life Fiction” na pinagbibidahan nina Piolo Pascual, Jasmine Curtis-Smith at Epy Quizon.
Bukod sa kanila, may special participation din ito ni Lav Diaz.
Ang nag-direk at nagsulat ng nito ay ang sikat na direktor na si Paul Soriano.
Ang pelikula ay isang intense psychological drama na nakasentro sa buhay ng isang sikat na aktor na si Paco, ang role ni Piolo, na hindi na malaman kung ano ang totoo at hindi matapos ang ilang taon ng pagiging tanyag sa industriya.
“Filmed at the height of the pandemic, ‘Real Life Fiction’ further tests the cast’s depth and resilience as they navigate through real life crises all while fulfilling their roles to give the audience a glimpse of what most actors experience on and off the camera,” sey ng Black Cap Pictures.
Pagbabahagi naman ni Direk Paul, “This film is an observation and a personal look at how my imaginations come to life through the lives of actors who completely give me their trust and support. Sometimes, real life is the fiction we create in our mind.”
