FOR the first time ay may kandidata mula sa Saudi Arabia na sasabak at lalaban sa Miss Universe pageant na magaganap sa Mexico City this year.
Magiging unang representative ng Saudi Arabia sa Miss Universe 2024 ang beterana na sa mga beauty pageant at social media influencer na si Rumy Alqahtani.
Si Rumy ang itinanghal na Miss Arab World 2021 kaya siya rin ang rumampa sa Miss World 2021 pageant mula sa Saudi Arabia.

Sa kanyang Instagram profile, makikita ang iba pang beauty pageant na kanyang sinalihan at napagwagian, kabilang na riyan ang Miss Arab Peace, Miss Woman Saudi Arabia at Miss Europe Saudi Arabia.
Nanalo rin siya sa Miss Planet Saudi Arabia, Miss Middle East Saudi Arabia, Miss Arab Unity Saudi Arabia, at Miss Asia Saudi Arabia.

Mababasa sa Instagram post ni Rumy noong March 25, “Honored to participate in Miss Universe 2024.
“This is the first participation of Saudi Arabia in the Miss Universe competition,” aniya pa gamit ang mga hashtag #missuniversesaudiarabia at #miss_universe_saudi_arabia.
Nauna rito, nabalita rin ang muling pagpapadala ng New Zealand ng kandidata sa Miss Universe pageant. Huli silang sumali sa naturang international pageant noong 2019.
Para sa taong ito, ang magiging representative ng New Zealand ay ang Kiwi-Pinoy actress na si Franki Russell.
Sabi ni Frankie sa kanyang Instagram post, “A new chapter (New Zealand flag emoji) Where to begin. This really feels like a ten year journey in the making.

“This is a 10-year journey for me. I joined Miss Universe New Zealand in 2014 when I was 19 years old, but I wasn’t able to complete the competition due to challenges in the schedule.

“But the crown has been my dream ever since.
“After that, an opportunity for me to join a reality show here in the Philippines arrived and I grabbed that immediately.
“From that moment, a lot of opportunities opened for me, especially in the Philippine showbiz industry.
“I was able to join a TV series and signed a movie contract with Viva Films where I did a couple of films with them,” sabi pa ni Franki.
“Now that I am 29, ten years older and with far more life experience, I realized that life definitely works in mysterious ways.
“As the saying goes, ‘everything happens for a reason’ and has lead me to this new role,” aniya pa.
Nakasama si Franki sa mga housemates ng “Pinoy Big Brother: Otso” noong 2019 at kasunod nito ay lumabas siya sa ilang show ng ABS-CBN, kabilang na ang “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.”
