Pura Luka Vega nakalaya na: Tuloy pa rin ang laban, tuloy pa rin ang buhay

NAKALAYA na ang controversial drag performer na si Pura Luka Vega matapos makapagpiyansa ng P360,000.
Ang balita na ‘yan ay kinumpirma mismo ni Pura Luka sa kanyang X (dating Twitter) account noong March 1.
“I was released on bail today,” anunsyo niya sa social media.
Kwento pa niya, “Honestly, I got to learn more about my cellmates and their stories and much more. Because of what is happening and through the support and explanations of my lawyers, I now feel comfortable using legal jargon in everyday life.”
Kasunod niyan ay lubos niyang pinasalamatan ang lahat ng tumulong sa kanya upang makalaya siya.

Patuloy niya, “Lubos ang pasasalamat ko sa mga tumulong sakin sa bail ko. To my drag sisters na walang sawang tumulong sakin at nag-organize ng fundraising for legal fees, maraming maraming salamat sa inyo. Salamat @brianblack_ [holding bakc tears, blue heart emojis].”
“More importantly, I am grateful for those who have supported and defended me. There can be a hundred people in the room, and 99 don’t believe in you, but one does. Masaya na ako doon,” dagdag niya.
Sa huli ay naisingit pa niya ang pag-promote ng reality competition na “Drag Den” kasabay ng pasasalamat niya sa fellow drag queen na si Manila Luzon.
“And I would like to thank our drag lord, @manilaluzon for the mother that she is. She has been there for us and I can’t thank her enough,” wika niya.

Magugunita noong February 29 nang arestuhin muli si Pura Luka ng Manila Police District nang dahil pa rin sa nag-viral niyang “Ama Namin” performance.
Ayon kay “Drag Den” director na si Rod Singh, nag-isyu ng warrant of arrest ang Quezon City court para sa tatlong kasong paglabag ni Pura Luka sa Article 201 ng Revised Penal Code na isinampa ng tatlong simbahan na affiliated sa Philippines for Jesus Movement.
May recommended bail ito na P360,000 at dahil diyan ay naglunsad agad sila ng donation drive upang makalaya agad ang kanilang fellow drag artist.
Kung matatandaan, October last year nang arestuhin ng mga pulis si Pura Luka sa kanyang tinitirahan sa Sta. Cruz, Manila.
Kaugnay ito sa mga kasong paglabag sa Immoral Doctrines Obscene Publications and Exhibitions and Indecent Shows (2)(B)(3) AND (2)(3)(5) of Revised Penal Code Article 201 na may piyansang P72,000.
Ang pagkakahuli noon kay Pura Luka ay nag-ugat sa kasong isinampa naman ng mga deboto ng Black Nazarene, ang “Hijos del Nazareno.”
Dati nang nanindigan ang drag queen na wala siyang masamang ginawa at hindi niya intensyon ang kutyain ang paniniwala ng mga tao.
“My intention was never to mock. I also would not like to invalidate their feelings. If they feel hurt or they feel offended, it’s their right to feel such,” sey niya.
Matatandaang nag-viral ang kanyang video na nagpe-perform gamit ang kantang “Ama Namin” na nakasuot ng damit ng Itim na Nazareno.
Lantarang kabastusan daw sa simbahan ang ginawa ni Pura Luka, ayon mismo sa ilang religious leaders kaya dapat siyang maparusahan.
