CBCP sinabing ‘blasphemous’ ang viral drag performance ni Pura Luka Vega: That is the prayer taught by Christ himself
NAGSALITA na ang Catholic Bishop’s Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) ukol sa viral “Ama Namin” remix version drag performance ni Pura Luka Vega.
Nitong Huwebes, July 13, ipinalabas sa “24 Oras” ang pahayag ng spokesperson ng organisasyon na si Fr. Jerome Secillano at sinabing ang naturang performance ng drag queen ay maituturing na “mockery” at “blasphemous”.
“‘Yung mga religious elements or sacred elements ng religion hindi mo naman ginagamit for secular purposes,” saad ni CBCP spokesperson Fr. Secillano.
Base raw sa kanilang napanood sa viral video, makikitang nagsisigawan at nagsasayawan ang mga tao habang inaawit ang kantang “Ama Namin”.
Ayon pa sa CBCP spokesperson, “Nakita natin doon sa ginawang pagsasayaw, merrymaking, performance, nagsisigawan ‘yung mga nakapaligid, kinukuhanan ng video.
“It’s bordering on profanity also and even blasphemous, a sacrilegious.”
Bukod pa rito, ipinahayag rin ng CBCP spokesperson ang kanilang pagkadismaya sa paraan ng pagkakakanta ng sagradong awitin.

Nanindigan naman ang drag queen sa kanyang naging drag performance.
Ibinahagi niya sa kanyang Twitter noong Huwebes na naiintindihan niya ang mga sinasabi ng tao laban sa kanyang ginawa.
“I understand that people call my performance blasphemous, offensive or regrettable. However, they shouldn’t tell me how I practice my faith or how I do my drag,” saad ni Luka.
Aniya, ang ginawa niyang drag performance ay hindi naman ginawa para sa mga taong bumabatikos rito.
“That performance was not for you to begin with. It is my experience and my expression, of having been denied my rights,” dagdag pa ni Luka.
Isa si Luka sa mga naging cast ng kauna-unahang season ng “Drag Den Philippines” kung saan nakamit niya ang 8th place.
