NILINAW ng boyfriend ni 5th district Quezon City Councilor Aiko Melendez na si Zambales 1st district Rep. Jay Khonghun ang pahayag ni dating COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon na ang viral TikTok video ay kinunan sa Plenary Hall ng House of Representatives.
Base sa inilabas na statement ni Cong. Jay, “In light of the recent news involving Councilor Aiko Melendez, the Office of Congressman Jay Khonghun would like to first correct the statement of former COMELEC Commissioner Rowena Guanzon that the viral TikTok videos of QC District 5 Councilor Aiko Melendez were done at the Plenary Hall of the House of Representatives.
“Those videos were taken at the Quezon City Session Hall.
“The videos received unfair criticism against the actions of Councilor Aiko and the other officials as disrespectful to the institution they are representing but as per the statement of QC Vice Mayor Gian Sotto, Councilor Aiko and others did not violate any internal rules or procedure of the Quezon City Council and it was recorded prior to their scheduled session.

“Councilor Aiko has an exemplary record as a councilor of District 5. She was never involved in any corrupt and dishonest practices while serving her term.
“This Tik-Tok video should not taint her hard work and dedication as a city councilor as if she did a crime.
“To all social media users, while we respect your right to call out public officials in the performance of their duties, social media is not a great place to advocate misinformation and personal attacks.”
At ang tanong ni Cong. Jay sa madlang pipol, “Besides, would you prefer a public official who publicly posts TikTok videos for fun or a public official who steals public money quietly?”

Samantala, may netizen namang pumabor sa statement na ito ni Cong. Jay na si @Cez Gella, “Ang OA naman. Napanood ko to, I didn’t find anything offensive at all.
“Nagsayaw lang saglit pang good vibes disrespectful na? Kung sa harap ng altar sa simbahan ‘yan ginawa pwede pang disrespectful. ‘Wag naman tayong OA masyado.
“Sa lamay nga ng patay me nagsasayaw pa kasi gus2 ng namatay happy lang daw, ayaw ng malungkot, walang na-offend me masabe lang, lahat hinahanapan ng butas.
“Ang disrespectful ‘yung binoto ka ng bayan tapos wala kang ginagawa, ang tamad mong magdeliver ng basic needs ng constituents mo.
“Dapat nandu’n ang focus n’yo at pag initan n’yo, hindi sa mga well performing public officials,” aniya pa.
