HANGGANG ngayon ay hindi pa rin makapaniwala si Angelica Lopez ng Palawan na siya ang itinanghal na Binibining Pilipinas International 2023 sa ginanap na grand coronation night last Sunday sa Araneta Coliseum.
Bago ang announcement ng winners, marami ang nagsasabi na baka siya ang manalong Binibining Pilipinas Globe 2023 dahil bagay na bagay daw ang nasabing titulo sa ipinakita niyang performance sa taunang pageant.
“Everyone’s telling me that I’m fit for Miss Globe. And then when they called Miss International, OMG!” ang pahayag ni Angelica sa panayam ng ABS-CBN.

Sa pagkapanalo niya sa katatapos lang na national pageant, nabanggit ng dalaga na nais niyang patunayan sa buong mundo na pwedeng-pwede ring maging Miss International ang mga tulad niyang morena.
“I am so proud because I am the second Palawenyo who won (Bb. Pilipinas) International. The first one po who won International was Janicel Lubino. I really want to break the stereotype that Miss International should be fair-skinned. I still can’t believe it po,” sabi ni Angelica.

Inialay din ni Angelica ang napanalunang titulo at korona sa kanyang inang pumanaw na limang taon na ngayon ang nakararaan.
“For those who don’t know, I grew up in low economic status household. At the age of 14, I became a dishwasher and waitress and really worked hard.
“It was my mother who taught me the value of money, to be resilient, that’s why I have become the strong independent woman that I am,“ pahayag pa ni Angelica.

Dagdag pa ng dalaga, “It’s really my mother who helped me to become the person that I am today. I dedicate this win to her.”
Kinoronahan si Angelica ng reigning Miss International na si Jasmin Selberg ng Germany.
Narito naman ang kanyang winning answer sa tanong na, “What makes you a binibini who walks the talk and who is beyond mere self-promotion?”
“I stand here tonight because it is my mother who instilled in me the values and the morals that I am using to be the woman that I am today—a woman who has the strength, courage, and tenacity; the strength to decide for herself—what she wants, really works hard to achieve it.
“To also have the courage to face any obstacles of life and tenacity to hold on to her wisdom of choice. And I believe, it is always a dream come true to be here, and that is why I am the Binibini that I am always meant to be. Thank you,” Aniya pa.
Ang bet naman ng Bataan na si Anna Valencia Lakrini ang nagwaging Bb. Pilipinas Globe 2023 habang sina Katrina Anne Johnson ng Davao del Sur at Atasha Reign Parani ng General Trias, Cavite ang nagwaging first and second runner-up.
