2 bayan sa Cotabato idineklarang ‘NPA-free’

MALAYA na mula sa mga rebeldeng komunista na “New People’s Army” o NPA ang dalawang lugar sa probinsya ng Cotabato.

Ito ang mga bayan ng Matalam at Mlang, ayon kay 1st Lt. Michael Allan Eugenio ng 90th Infantry Battalion.

Kinumpirma rin ito ng mga konseho ng munisipyo ng dalawang bayan na kung saan ay nagpasa pa sila ng isang resolusyon na nagpapatibay sa idineklara ng militar.

Sabi pa ni Eugenio, “The declaration came after our consistent military operations and efforts in reaching out to the former rebel-influenced communities, sectors, and organizations through the Community Support Program (CSP).”

Nakwento din ni Eugenio na na-”neutralize” ng mga militar ang dalawang unit ng NPA – ang “Guerilla Front 53” sa bayan ng Matalam at “Guerilla Front 72 Mt Alip Command” na nago-operate naman sa bayan ng Mlang pati na rin sa South Cotabato province at ilang bahagi ng Davao del Sur.

Bukod pa riyan, nabuwag din daw ng mga militar ang tatlong “underground mass organizations” na pinamamahalaan ng  Kilusang Rebolusyonaryo sa Barangay (KRB).

Ang 90th Infantry Battalion, aniya, ay magpapatuloy sa mga aktibidad upang mapalaya muli labans sa mga rebeldeng grupo ang ibang pang lugar.
