Mas nakakahawang COVID-19 Omicron ‘XBB subvariant’, ‘XBC variant’ nasa Pinas na

ISANG panibago at mas nakakahawang COVID-19 virus ang pinag-iingat ngayon ng Department of Health o DOH.

Kinumpirma nila na may “local transmission” na ng “Omicron subvariant XBB” at “XBC variant” sa bansa.

“Definitely, there is local transmission,” saad ni Alathea de Guzman, ang officer-in-charge of the DOH Epidemiology Bureau, sa isang online town hall meeting.

Paliwanag pa ni de Guzman na wala namang kaugnayan sa “overseas travel” ang mga nakitang kaso ng XBB at XBC kaya nila nakumpirma na may “local transmission” sa Pilipinas.

Aniya, “May nakikita tayong datos na nagsusuporta na localized ang transmission.

“Halimbawa sa XBB, karamihan ng mga kaso ay nahahanap sa Region 6 at ang mga kasong ito ay hindi na natin talaga nali-link sa isa’t isa.

“Either wala silang koneksyon as to time or place to each other, so localized community transmission.”

Sa latest report ng DOH, nakapagtala ang Pilipinas ng 81 na kaso ng XBB Omicron sub-variant, habang mayroon namang 193 na kaso ng XBC variant.

Paliwanag ng DOH, ito’y dahil sa nagsama-samang coronavirus.

Nabuo ang XBB matapos mag-”combine” ang Omicron variant strains na BJ.1 at BM.1.1.1.

Habang ang XBC ay ang pinagsanib-pwersa naman ng BA.2 ng Omicron at ilang variants ng Delta.

Paalala ng Health department na hindi pa tapos ang pandemya at kailangang manatiling sumunod sa “minimum health standards” upang maiwasan ang lalong pagdami ng mga nahahawaan.
