INIHAIN sa Kamara de Representantes ang panukala na nagbabawal sa pag-inom ng alak sa lahat ng pampublikong lugar anumang oras.
Ayon sa House bill 3047 na akda ni Quezon Rep. Angelina Tan bawal uminom sa kalsada, eskenita, plaza, sidewalk, parke, playground, parking area at iba pa.
“Alcoholism and violence have clearly become key public health issues that require urgent attention. Hence, it is imperative for the country to initiate proactive policies to curb alcohol consumption in public places,” ani Tan sa kanyang panukala.
Ang mga lalabag ay makukulong ng hanggang tatlong buwan at pagmumultahin ng P10,000.
Nauna rito ay sinabi ni Pangulong Duterte ang panukalang nationwide liquir ban.
Ayon kay Tan nakabatay ang sinabi ni Duterte sa report ng World Health Organization na nagsasabi na 3 milyon ang namamatay kada taon dahil sa alak na iniuugnay din sa mahigit 200 sakit.
“Alcohol consumption causes death and disability relatively early in life. In the age group 20-39 years approximately 13.5 percent of the total deaths are alcohol attributable,” saad pa ng WHO report.
