Duterte walang inendorso sa dinner, sa Hunyo 28 pa mag-aanunsyo

WALA pang pinipili si Pangulong Duterte na maging speaker ng susunod na Kongreso.

Kundi sinabi umano ni Duterte na iaanunsyo nito ang kanyang ieendorso sa Hunyo 28 ang napili niyang speaker ng 18th Congress.

Ito umano ang sinabi ni Duterte sa mga kongresista na dumalo sa dinner sa Malacanang na ipinatawag ni presidential son at Davao City Rep. Paolo Duterte noong Martes.

“Wala pang endorsement. It was purely a social event which the President graced upon the invitation of Congressman Pulong,” ani Garbin na isa sa mga dumalo sa dinner. “Pero the President will make an announcement on June 28.”

Noong una ay sinabi umano ng Pangulo na iaanunsyo niya ang pipiliin niya 72 oras bago ang kanyang ika-apat na State of the Nation Address pero bago natapos ang pagtitipon ay binago niya ito at sinabing sa Hunyo 28 na ito mag-aanunsyo.

Ganito rin ang sinabi ng neophyte na si Masbate Rep. Wilton Kho na dumalo rin sa event.

“Sabi ng Presidente sa June 28 may sasabihin s’ya sa amin pero ‘di n’ya rin sinabi kung ano ang sasabihin n’ya. Pero kami ine-expect namin na baka ‘yun na ang endorsement n’ya sa speakership,” ani Kho.

Kabilang sa lumulutang na pangalan na maging speaker si Leyte Rep. Martin Romualdez, Marinduque Rep. Lord Allan Velasco at Taguig-Pateros Rep. Alan Peter Cayetano.

Sa isang pahayag sinabi ni Velasco na layunin ng dinner na magkakila-kilala ang mga kongresista ng susunod na Kongreso.

“It was an evening of fellowship to welcome the neophytes and get everybody acquainted before we buckle down to work in the 18th Congress starting next month. We want to foster camaraderie among the incoming members of the 18th Congress so we can work harmoniously and forward our legislative agenda, as well as the administration’s priority for the next three years, in order to uplift the lives of the Filipino people and sustain the country’s economic growth,” ani Velasco.
