7 pulis nahaharap sa kaso dahil sa indiscriminate firing sa New Year’s Eve
NAHAHARAP sa kaso ang pitong pulis matapos na magpaputok ng baril sa pagsalubong ng Bagong Taon, ayon sa Philippine National Police (PNP).
“The unidentified seven police officers will be facing administrative cases,” sabi ni PNP chief Director General Oscar Albayalde.
Naaresto rin ang isang miyembro ng Armed Forces of the Philippines, isa pang law enforcement agent, dalawang security guard at 10 sibilyan, ayon pa sa PNP.
“The full might of the law will be applied to these trigger-happy gun owners upon observance of all requirements of due process,” dagdag ni Albayalde.
Samantala, naaresto ng PNP ang 97 katao dahil sa pagbebenta ng ipinagbabawal na paputok.
Umabot sa 26,676 pulis ang ipinakalat sa buong bansa para matiyak ang mapayapang pagsalubong ng Bagong Taon.
Sinabi ni Albayalde na base sa ulat ng Department of Health (DOH) bumaba ng 58 porsiyento ang kaso ng mga nabiktima ng mga paputok sa pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan at Bagong Taon.
