TITO SOTTO

LIVING a senator’s life is not all bed of roses. People perceive them as very luxurious – above-board but mind you, it’s a tough position actually. Lahat ng ginagawa mo ay very public – palaging nasisilip. Damn if you do, damn if you don’t.

Pag tatamad-tamad ka, may sasabihin tiyak ang taumbayan at pag meron ka namang mahalagang pinagkakaabalahan where you involve your heart and soul on it, meron pa ring kokontra. That’s how it is, di ba Sen. Tito Sotto? Yes, he is a victim of social media bashing now dahil sa pagsulong sa Cyber Crime Law that penalizes authors of libelous acts or materials sa internet.

“Hindi naman dapat maging threat ito sa mga internet users eh, dapat lang maging responsable tayo sa ating mga pino-post sa social media. It’s not curtailing our freedom of expression or speech for that matter. There’s so much fun sa social media, we enjoy exchanging ideas and opinions on issues. We have them still, hindi naman ito nagse-censor ng basta-basta lang.

“Huwag lang yung directly ruining a person’s reputation, huwag naman. Ibang usapan na iyon. You don’t call a person names ng ganoon-ganoon lang. If you disagree with opinions and whatsoever, okay lang iyon. Palitan lang kayo ng kuro-kuro na hindi nagkakapersonalan.

“Also, we are very strict with Cybersex, naglipana ito worldwide. Everyone kasi has an easy access to social media. Even children get through it easily. Kaya dapat maging responsable lang tayo, that’s what we care about,” ani Sen.

I came across kasi an item posted by a certain Carlos Celdran (is he in anyway related to my former crush David Celdran? He-hehehe) – sa Facebook ba iyon or isang link sa Twitter. He posted this: “And just because I like to play dangerously, ahem Tito Sotto – you are a moron and you have no right to be in Senate. And I say this with total malice and intent of ruining your political career. Yep. Now sue me jack***s.”

That’s too strong, Carlos. Parang sobra naman. Calling someone a moron – I guess this Carlos deserve a kastigo of some sort. Kung hindi siya sang-ayon sa paniniwala ng kaniyang kapwa, puwede naman niyang kontrahin ito decently without calling someone a moron or jack***s. Lalo pa to someone who holds a very sensitive position sa pamahalaan natin. This man is provoking something, he is declaring a war of sort.

Parang throwing his weight around. I find the provocation very uncalled for most especially from a Carlos Celdran na napag-alaman ko pa namang graduate ng designing course sa Rhode Island.

Yeah, he is a social activist as his profile says of him pero hindi naman yata ito license para mambastos siya ng kapwa just because he disagrees with certain points or issue. Doon lang sana siya makipag-argue with the issues pero no calling of bad names, di ba? Edukado naman yata siya as he says, di ba?

I remember an issue about this Carlos Celdran a long time ago, he is the same person na nambastos sa isang misa sa Manila Cathedral nu’ng Sept. 30, 2010 if I’m not not mistaken. Habang nag-u-officiate si Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales ng mass, this Carlos Celdran came inside the church in a full Jose Rizal’s Damaso outfit at ipinatitigil ang misa.

He was thrown out of the church by police authorities and was charged in court. Ganoon katindi ang taong ito. Tanong ko nga sa sarili ko, no offense meant ha, is this guy in his right mind and senses? Sobrang tapang na wala naman sa lugar.

Naawa lang ako kay Sen. Tito Sotto para tawagin niyang moron just because he disagrees with the senator’s thoughts. And mind you, napakaraming nag-react sa post niyang iyon. Many agreed of what he said about Tito Seno.

And saying that he posted it with total malice and intent to ruin Sen. Tito Sotto’s political career, malinaw na provocation ito and how will he defend himself should the good senator sue him? Kadalasan kasi sa libel, mahirap i-establish ang element ng malice pero with this, siya na mismo ang nagsasabing with “total malice” ang kaniyang post. Is this guy normal? Just asking.
Tito Sotto in the past?

Tito? Meron ba siyang dark past with a namesake of the good senator?

Nakasaad kasi sa profile ni Carlos Celdran that when he was in the States before, he lived a bisexual life and he is to this day an active advocate of the HIV/AIDS issues. Nakakaloka!

Tito Sotto. I am not a fan of the senator though I love his wife Tita Helen Gamboa so dearly dahil she’s such a wonderful lady – pero no one on earth has the right to call someone a moron.
