Ian Sia instant celebrity sa ‘single mother’ joke, Shamcey pumalag
DAHIL sa joke viral video ni Atty Christian ‘Ian’ Sia sa mga single mothers sa nakaraang kampanya kung saan kabilang siya sa Team Discaya ay naging instant celebrity siya.
Paanong hindi magiging instant celebrity ang kumakandidatong congressman ng Pasig e, sinabihan na rin siya ng hepe ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) na si Ginoong Rex Gatchalian na hindi dapat ginagawan ng biro ang tungkol sa regla base sa terminong ginamin ni attty Sia patungkol sa mga single mothers na ‘yung mga interesado ay puwedeng tumabi sa kanya.
Ayon sa post ni Ginoong Gatchalian sa kanyang Facebook account, “As DSWD secretary, I simply do not find this funny.”
Sabi pa niya, “hoping that election discourse is elevated to a higher level. I’ve been to these barangay-based caucuses, and I know how hard it is to keep voters’ attention — especially in this sweltering heat. Using our vulnerable, poor, and marginalized sectors as the butt of jokes is not the way to go.”
At ang bilin pa ng DSWD secretary na dating mayor at congressman ng Valenzuela City ay, “let’s not underestimate voters. They may laugh, but that doesn’t mean they’ll vote for you. Engage them by telling them what you will do for them, rather than making them the punchline of your jokes.
“Solo parents are real-life heroes who put food on the table against all odds. They raise their children alone through sheer sacrifice. Let’s not marginalize them further.”
Bukod sa DSWD ay naglabas ang Comelec ng show cause order laban kay Sia na sinabi ng Task Force SAFE ng Comelec na sa kanilang pananaw, ang pahayag ay bumubuo ng isang ‘posibleng paglabag’ sa Comelec Resolution No. 11116, na nagdedetalye ng diskriminasyon sa paglabag sa halalan. Nagbigay ito ng diin sa Seksyon 3, na kinabibilangan ng diskriminasyon laban sa kababaihan at panliligalig na nakabatay sa kasarian bilang kabilang sa mga ipinagbabawal na gawain. Itinuro ng Comelec kung paano nai-post sa social media ang mga pahayag ni Sia at iniulat ng media.

Kinumpirma ni Comelec Chairman George Garcia na motu proprio ang inilabas na kautusan, ibig sabihin ay kusa itong kumilos at hindi na naghintay ng reklamo.
Binigyan ng tatlong araw si atty Sia para ipaliwanag kung bakit hindi dapat isampa laban sa kanya ang reklamo para sa pagkakasala sa halalan, o isang petisyon para sa diskwalipikasyon.
Base sa panayam kay ginoong Garcia sa Teleradyo Serbisyo, “Bakit kinakailangang bumaba tayo sa level ng ganyan sa pangangampanya?
“‘Yung content ng biro, medyo hindi po ‘yun biro eh. Kasi siyempre madaming mga masasaktan na mga kababaihan, at kahit po kalalakihan Nasa social media, and therefore, pag pinabayaan naman po namin, napakawalang kuwenta naman po ng Comelec, kung ganyan-ganyan ang mga biro lang, papayagan at hahayaan lang natin. Sa atin pong palagay, kinakailangang umaksyon ang Commission on Elections.”
Samantala, hindi rin pinalampas ng dating beauty queen na papasukin na rin ang politika bilang konsehal sa District 1 ng Pasig na si Ms Shamcey Supsup-Lee ang birong ito ni atty. Ian Sia na kasama niya sa Team Discaya.
Aniya ay hindi nito tino-tolerate ang biro ng kanyang ka-piket at kinausap na niya si Sia tungkol dito
Base sa Facebook post ni Shamcey, “As a woman and a mother, I do not tolerate statements—whether made in jest or in earnest—that diminish or disrespect women.
“I’ve spoken to Atty. lan and shared my thoughts with him directly. I believe we all have moments to learn from, and I hope this becomes one of them.”
Ipinaliwanag naman ng Miss Universe 2011 3rd runner-up kung bakit Team Discaya siya sumali.
“I joined this team because of our shared commitment to serve Pasiguenos especially in areas like legal aid, senior support, access to quality healthcare and help for solo parents. These are efforts I continue to support and build on.”
At ang lagi niyang sinasabi, “you can trust that I will always stand for what is right, even when it’s not easy. Because that’s the kind of leadership I believe the Pasig deserves.”
Anyway, may mga nertizens na nagtanong kay Shamcey bakit ngayon lang siya nagsalita.
“Why didn’t you call him out right then and there? None from your party stood up for the disrespected single mothers.”
May nagsabing, “Yeah. But in you’re in the wrong team.”
“Shamcey, why are you in this team? Disappointing tbh.”
“If you do not share the same values, you’re in a wrong place.”
“There are other ways to contribute, not just politics.”
“Though I appreciate your stance and action against Atty Sia’s joke, I would’ve supported you…only if you are part of Giting ng Pasig.”
“Disrespect is still disrespect.”
“I have high respect for you Shamcey but how come you joined this team.”
“I think your principles or the service that you want to give in Pasig is not aligned to the team you belong.”
“Napakatalino pero maling grupo ang sinamahan.!”
“You earned my respect back Ate Shamcey!”
“So disappointing that you’re in Mr. Sia’s team who is disrespectful to women! How can you support someone like him?”

Sa kabilang banda ay humingi na ng paumanhin si atty Sia sa biro niya pero sinisisi niya ang nag-upload ng video dahil ito ang naglagay ng malisya dahil hindi nito ipinakita na ang mga botanteng dumalo sa sortie ay nagtatawanan dahil alam nilang biro ito.
Bukas ang BANDERA sa reaskyon ni Shamcey sa tanong ng netizens at kay atty Sia tungkol naman sa pahayag ng DSWD at Comelec.
