SHOCKED pa rin si Megastar Sharon Cuneta matapos malamang pumanaw na ang tinaguriang Queen of Philippine Cinema na si Gloria Romero.
Late nang nakarating kay Shawie ang malungkot na balita at wasak na wasak na naman daw ang kanyang puso ngayon dahil sa pagyao ng isa na namang haligi ng Philippine entertainment industry.
Nagkasama sina Sharon at Tita Glo sa maraming pelikula at TV show, kabilang na ang mga guesting niya sa sitcom noon ng ABS-CBN na “Palibhasa Lalake” na pinagbidahan nina Richard Gomez, Joey Marquez at John Estrada.

Sa kanyang Instagram account, nagbahagi si Mega ng kanyang mensahe ng pamamaalam para sa Reyna ng Pelikulang Pilipino kalakip ang litrato nito.
“I just found out. This is jarring, and so sad. Another Movie Queen and pillar of the Movie Industry. I am grateful and blessed to have been able to work with her and get to know her better than most other co-stars.
“A Queen through and through. So gentle, regal, yet funny and such great company. I am honored to have even been able to sit beside you, Tita Glo, ‘Ninang…’ I will never forget you.
“And we will all greatly miss you…May you rest well in God our Father’s loving arms. I love you. Our deepest condolences to Tita Glo’s family. We pray for strength for you. May God be with you all at this difficult time,” pagbabahagi pa ni Mega.
Sa isa namang panayam, sinabi rin ni Shawie na, “Nagulat ako, I only found out yesterday. Late ko na nalaman. Nu’ng nasabihan ako, nagulat ako.
“Shooting namin sa ‘Oras-oras, araw-araw’, ‘Bakit ikaw pa rin?’, guestings ko sa Palibhasa Lalake. Si Maritess (Gutierrez), yung anak niya, since grade school, schoolmate ko sa St. Paul, tapos ka-birthday pa ni Tita Gloria si Frankie.
“The last time I saw her, matagal na yun, pero she was so healthy, happy saka tuwing merong nawawala sa industriya lalo na pag reyna, lalo na pag nakasama mo sa pelikula, at napakabuti niya sa yo.
“Feeling ko, nabawasan na naman tayo ng pillar sa industry. It’s a very sad day,” saad pa ni Sharon.
Pahayag naman ng seasoned actress ja si Cherry Pie Picache, “As a young actor before, or somebody who loves films, mahilig ako pinapanood ko talaga sila. Yung black and white pag afternoon, pinapanood ko yan lahat. If there are two actresses that I really admire and idolize – Lolita Rodriguez and Gloria Romero.”
“I was honored to be able to work with Tita Glo. I did ‘Tanging Yaman’ with her. Ina-idolize mo yung beauty inside out, but if you get to meet her as a person, yun yung gift niya. The priviledge of you knowing her, it’s her beauty inside.
“Napaka-unassuming na tao with all her accolades and ano, napaka-kind hindi marunong magalit. Napakagandang kaluluwa,” dagdag pa ng aktres.
Sumakabilang-buhay si Gloria Romero nitong January 25, 2025 sa edad na 91.
