Local officials suportado pa rin si PBBM, tuloy ang paglilingkod sa publiko

NANGAKO ang local leaders na pangangalagaan ang konstitusyon, susuportahan ang gobyerno, at magpapatuloy sa pagsisilbi sa mga komunidad sa gitna ng tensiyon sa pagitan nina President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos at Vice President Sara Duterte.

Sa isang pahayag, sinabi ni Iloilo City Mayor na si Geronimo “Jerry” Trenas na sumusunod sa batas ang local officials at sila ang nangunguna sa paghahatid ng serbisyo sa mga tao at laging papangalagaan ang Constitution at susunod sa rule of law bilang pundasyon ng pamamahala.

“It is crucial, especially in times of political differences at the national level, to prioritize stability and unity for the welfare of the Filipino people,” saad niya.

Sinabi rin ni Mayor Trenas na bagama’t nagkaroon ng pagkakaiba sa opinion at diskurso ang publiko sa hindi pagkakaunawaan nina PBBM at VP Duterte, dapat manaig pa rin ang democratic system para ma-address ang mga ganitong concern.

“As local officials, we remain focused on working hand in hand with the national administration to implement programs and initiatives that uplift the lives of our constituents,” pahayag pa ng opisyal.

Dagdag ng mayor ng Iloilo City, “It is my hope that this matter will be resolved constructively, guided by the principles of our Constitution and the rule of law.

“Let us all continue to lean on the strength of the administration’s commitment to progress and development for a better Philippines.”

Samantala, nagbigay naman ng suporta ang League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMP), na binubuo ng town mayors sa Pilipinas, at nagpahayag ng walang tigil na suporta kay Pangulong Marcos.

Sinundan naman ito ng isang panawagan ng mga mayor para sa accountability sa isyung kinakaharap ng pangalawang pangulo.

“Leadership demands a higher standard of conduct that prioritizes the welfare of the Filipinos above personal or political interests,” pahayag ng LMP.

“We reject any threats of violence or actions that may undermine the safety and stability of our nation.
