Aiko, Ice proud Regal Baby; malaki ang utang na loob kay Mother Lily

HUMILING ng dasal sa publiko ang naulilang pamilya ng yumaong film producer at showbiz icon na si Mother Lily Monteverde.

Habang sinusulat namin ang malungkot na balitang ito ay dagsa na ang nagpo-post sa social media ng kanilang mga mensahe ng pamamaalam para kay Mother Lily na pumanaw kaninang madaling araw, August 4.

Naglabas na rin ng opisyal na pahayag ang pamilya ng Regal Entertainment matriarch hinggil sa pagpanaw nito. Narito ang bahagi ng kanilang pahayag.

“Our mother, Lily Yu Monteverde, ended her journey at 3:18 AM this morning (August 4, 2024) to join our Creator.

“Throughout her years she has not only been a mother to her children but also the ‘Mother’ to so many generations of Filipino filmmakers — both creative and technical — to carve their names in our popular history.

“Yet behind this veneer of accomplishment, Mother Lily was not merely a matriarch and the face of Regal Films but a true mother to artists and workers who had the chance to know her beyond the confines of work.

“Mother Lily was surrounded by her children and grandchildren in her final hours.

“She was blessed with the chance to say goodbye to her closest friends and associates who bid her farewell yesterday before she left for that trip back home to the Divine Father.

“The family is at peace now that their mother has not only found rest but has joined their father Remy in that place called eternity — as they were together in life as they will remain together where there is no space or time.

“The Monteverde family are requesting for your prayers and to cherish the memory of Mother Lily not only as a face of cinema but as a loving mother who she truly was…and will always be forever.”

Sumakabilang-buhay ang asawa ni Mother Lily na si Leonardo “Father Remy” Monteverde noong July 29, 2024. Naulila nila ang kanilang mga anak na sina Winston, Sherida, Roselle, Dondon, at Goldwin Monteverde.

Pumanaw si Mother Lily sa edad na 84, ilang araw bago sumapit ang kanyang 85th birthday sa darating na August 19.

Ibuburol ang labi ni Mother Lily sa Valencia Events Place, 38 Valencia Street sa Quezon City, simula bukas, August 5, (3:30 p.m. – 12 midnight) hanggang sa Biyernes, August 9 (mula 10 a.m. hanggang 12 midnight.

Ihahatid at ililibing ang kanyang labi sa The Heritage Park, Taguig City.

Samantala, ang mga naunang magpahatid ng kanilang pakikiramay sa naulilang pamilya ni Mother Lily ay ang original Regal babies na sina Aiko Melendez at Ice Seguerra.

Sabi ni Aiko sa kanyang Facebook post, “My last project with Regal Films was ‘Mano Po,’ where my character’s name was Lily Chua because Mother Lily requested it.

“I started as a Regal baby, and I owe her big time. I wouldn’t be where I am now if it weren’t for her. Thank you for making a dream come true.” Rest In the arms of our Creator Lord Jesus. #regalbaby I was a Regal baby,” mensahe ni Aiko.

Narito naman ang post ni Ice sa FB, “Si Mother Lily ang unang nagbigay sa akin ng break sa pelikula. From Wake Up, Little Susie, ilang box office hit films ang ginawa namin under Regal Films.

“Si Mother Lily ang nagbigay sa amin ng bahay sa Quezon City na naging tahanan ng aking pamilya nang maraming taon.

“Kaya siya tinawag na ‘Mother’ dahil maalaga siya. Yes, she had her quirks (sino ba namang wala) but if there’s one thing about Mother, grabe siya mag mahal.

“Ang pagmamahal niya sa pelikula ang nagbigay ng oportunidad sa mga taong kagaya ko na magkaroon ng career sa mundo ng showbusiness.

“Maraming salamat po, Mother Lily, for giving me my big break in the movie industry at sa pagaalaga at pagmamahal hindi lang sa akin kundi sa aking buong pamilya.

“May you rest in peace.”
