Mga kilalang direktor, producer nag-join sa CinePanalo 2025
ANG saya-saya ni Chris Cahilig, festival director ng Puregold CinePanalo Film Festival dahil posibleng umabot pa sa mahigit 140 ang nag-submit ng script para sa 2025 edisyon ng naturang filmfest.
Sa huling bahagi ng kuwento ni Chris sa ginanap na launching ng CinePanalo 2025 sa Gateway Cineplex 18 nitong Hulyo 23 ay nabanggit niyang tiyak na magugulat ang lahat kapag nalaman kung sinu-sino ang mga kilalang pangalan ang sumali.
At bilang makulit kami kaya hindi namin tinantanan ang festival director at binanggit naman niya lahat pero siyempre hindi namin isusulat.

Totoo nga, nagulat din kami dahil kilalang mga pangalan sa industriya ang nagsumite, kilalang mga direktor at producer din ang gustong makiisa sa CinePanalo Film Festival 2025 dahil nga nakita nila kung gaano ka-successful ang 2024.
Kaya naman ngayong 2025 ay madagdadagan ang funding pool para sa mapipiling filmmakers, with seven full-length directors set to receive a production grant worth P3 million.
At ang 25 selected student short film directors will receive a production grant worth P150,000. Seven full-length film grants are to be given this time around, surpassing last year’s six.
Tinanong namin si Chris na baka puwedeng gawin na ring 10 movies ang piliin tulad ng Metro Manila Film Festival ngayong taon.
“Hindi eh, hanggang pito lang talaga,” sagot sa amin.
Muling ipinagdiinan ni Chris na katulad noong 2024, ang mga mapipiling script ay may kinalaman sa Panalo Stories at sa July 30 ang last day ng submission para sa full length at August 15 para sa student shorts. Sa September 26 naman daw ang announcement ng 25 grant awardee.
Isa pang ikinasasaya ng puso ni Chris kasama rin ang Puregold executives headed by Senior Marketing Manager na si Ms. Ivy Piedad ay maraming interesadong dalhin ang “Under A Piaya Moon” na idinirek ni Kurt Soberano sa ilang film festivals sa ibang bansa.
Matatandaang ang nasabing pelikula ang nanalong Best Picture sa CinePanalo Film Festival 2024.

Sabi nga ni Direk Kurt na kasalukuyang nasa Negros kaya hindi nakarating sa mediacon (pero nagpadala naman ng video), nagsimula talaga siya as short film director.
“For me to reach my dream which is to make may first ever full-length feature. I started out as a filmmaker making short films here in the City of Bacolod. Stories that evolves around my province of Negros Occidental.
“Last August 20, 2023, I saw a call for entries for Puregold’s CinePanalo Film Festival, we applied and luckily we got accepted to top 15 and after our pitching we are very lucky to be included in the top 6 and the rest I history,” kuwento ni Direk Kurt.

Say ni Ms Ivy, “When we first launched CinePanalo, we envisioned it to champion Filipino stories, advocate for student filmmakers by providing them with a platform for their dream short films, and elevate the local film scene.
“We saw the birth of promising talents, with several inspiring stories that came to life on the big screen. Fueled by last edition’s success, here we are once again!”
