“And the National Costume Winner is… Michelle Dee!

“Chosen by the fans on our official Miss Universe app, Philippines is taking home the costume vote for this incredible outfit!” ayon sa caption ng Instagram post ng Miss Universe.

“A look back at the script of the National Costume Show as Michelle took the stage: ‘It’s a bird, it’s a plane…it’s Philippines! Crowned with a captain’s hat, this costume is a salute to the delegate’s role as an Air Force reservist.

“The look is representative of her country – resilient and radiant. There’s no denying, she’s the queen of flying … in the PHILIPPINES.’” sey ng Miss Universe organization.

Una na niyang nasungkit ang Voice for Change Gold Award, Fan Vote winner, at Spirit of the Carnival Award.

“Yes, Nicaragua deserves it, but not allowing Miss Philippines to enter the top 5 is ridiculous and unacceptable. We all know that Miss Philippines can earn a place in the top 5 and Michelle won the fan vote,” saad ng isang netizen.

Comment naman ng isa, “If the Best in National Costume was announced before the top 5, it would have created a bigger expectation that MMD will be in top 5. Was it purposely hidden? Is it again a human error? We need answers.”

“We also know that Michelle’s advocacy can win on its own. So, why didn’t you give Michelle a chance? Het looks, walk, confidence, and advocacy and also the way she caried the swimsuit, NC, and evening gown, have the power to come close to the crown,” sey pa ng isa.

Sey ni Michelle, “Truly believe that WE deserve this award (…amongst other things) So much hard work was put into this costume! Incredibly happy for my designer @barassimichael too!

“Just proves that we came PREPARED. #BAYANIHAN”
