“When I was a kid I used to dance a lot. I heard stories from when I was two, I would already dance to ‘Otso Otso.’ I feel like ever since I was a kid I was drawn to music and with that came dance,” pagbabalik-alaala ng anak ni Ibyang sa panayam ng Push.

“It was really kuya Arjo who inspired me. He really didn’t even have to encourage me, I just watched him before because he used to compete also.

“I guess just watching him and when I see people dance I felt like ‘okay I wanna dance also.’ I saw kuya and the support of the dance community, I felt like ever since then I watched it, it’s really something I wanted to do,” pagbabahagi pa ni Gela.

At tungkol naman sa paglaban nila sa mga International dance competition, “I guess it’s an honor, it’s very pressuring but then I feel like more than anything, I take pride in being a Filipino dancer.

“This competition, Filipinos always win or always place. It’s such a big deal for me now,” aniya pa.

Talagang kinakarir na nila ngayon ang kanilang training na tumatagal ng apat na oras bawat araw (five times a week), “It’s really the championship. We have no other option but to win.

“That’s what we keep telling each other na ‘hindi, kailangan (champions) hindi lang podium (finish) we have to win’ we’re that eager to win,” ang pahayag pa ni Gela.
