P1,000 polymer bill ng Pinas kinilalang ‘Bank Note of the Year’

NAKAKUHA ng panibagong pagkilala ang ating bansa!

Hindi ‘yan dahil sa talentong Pinoy, masarap na pagkain o magandang tanawin, ngunit dahil sa bagong itsura ng isang pera na papel.

Ang ating polymer bill na P1,000 ay nanalo bilang “Bank Note of the Year 2022” ng International Banknote Society (IBNS).

Ayon sa collectors at researchers mula sa iba’t-ibang bansa, napili nila ang ating pera  dahil sa magandang disenyo at pag-promote nito na pangangalaga sa kalikasan.

“The Philippines’ successful design in eye-pleasing blue combines an endangered species with an environmental motif,” sey ng IBNS, isang pribado at non-profit na organisasyon na naka-base sa United States na mayroong 2,000 members mula sa 90 na bansa.

Nabanggit din sa pahayag ng IBNS na naging isa sa “popular favorites” ang nasabing pera.

“From the onset of voting, the [Philippine entry] was the overwhelming favorite,” sey ng organisasyon.

Bagamat nakakuha ng papuri ang ating P1,000-bill, sinabi ng IBNS na tinututulan nila ang pinakabagong disenyo ng Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

Ito ay tumutukoy kay Chief Justice José Abad Santos, army general Vicente Lim at suffragette Josefa Llanes Escoda na lahat ay pinatay ng mga Hapon noong World War II.

“Descendants of the three World War II heroes previously on the face of the note were so opposed to the design change that the central bank will continue to print both varieties of the [P1,000] bank note for the time being,” saad sa pahayag.

Para sa kaalaman ng marami, ang P1,000 polymer bill ng Pilipinas ay isa sa 100 na bagong bank notes na inilabas sa buong mundo noong 2022 na kung saan 19 diyan ang naglaban-laban para sa nasabing titulo. 

Samantala, ilan sa mga naging runner-ups para sa “Bank Note of the Year” ay ang 50-pound bill mula sa Northern Island at ang 100-pound bill ng Scotland.
