WATCHED “Dick Talk” last Saturday on its opening night at the RCBC Theater in Makati and while the theme of dicks talking is a serious matter, the play is replete with guffaw-eliciting scenes.
Nakakatawa ang maraming eksena sa play which opened sa Junjun character ni Gold Aceron.
On his part, ikinuwento ni Junjun ang kanyang pinagdaraanan bilang nagbibinata at talaga namang nakakaaliw ang mga ito.
He was daring enough sa opening scene pa lang niya ay naghubad na siya. Totoong-totoo ang kanyang pinagdaanan bilang isang senior high school student na curious about sex.

Si Nil Nodalo, isang transgender man ang may pinakamaraming nakakatawang eksena. He delivered his role with such effectiveness dahil it’s was true-to-life.
His nuanced performance as a transgender man na ikinuwento ang kanyang pinagdaanan noong bata pa was replete with nakakatawang eksena and gestures.
Si Mikoy Morales bilang si Maria Cecilio “Cecille” de Jesus in the play displayed his unmatched virtuosity in his role as a vain guy na laging napagkakamalang gay.

Archi Adamos was at his usual best essaying the role of a 65 year old guy who had erectile dysfunction problem. Sad ang kanyang episode and it sends the signal sa maaaring kaharapin ng kanyang mga kaedaran.
Easily, it was Jake Cuenca who is most challenged among the cast. Wala kasi siyang paghuhugutan sa personal ng kanyang role bilang isang escort-for-hire na ang ama’t ina ay popular porn stars.
All four had more or less experienced what their characters have gone through.

Si Gold, napagdananan niya lahat ng ginawa ng kanyang Junjun character especially those time when he’s caught pleasuring himself.
Si Nil, napagdaanan niya ang pains and sacrifices ng isang member ng LGBT community na nag-decide na baguhin ang kanyang kasarian.
Si Mikoy admitted in our interview na he’s like his character, straight guy but oozing with feminism. He’s not the typical rough tough guy because he, too, like his character Cecille, is very vain to the point of making pabango his private part.
More or less, napagdaanan na rin siguro ni Archi ang kanyang role bilang isang guy na nagkaroon ng problema sa kanyang misis dahil hindi na siya tinatayuan.
But given that challenge, Jake gave his all in his performance. We saw his angst, his pains, his vulnerabilities as he tries to breathe life to a role that is exactly his opposite. He became his character, immersing into it like a professional would.
In all, “Dick Talk” is a social commentary about dicks and the role they play to everyone. Go catch it until April 23 at the RCBC Theater.
