LTFRB sa ikakasang transport strike: ‘We are ready…Kayang-kaya namin punan ‘yan’

NAKAHANDA na ang Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board (LTFRB) sa nakaamabang na isang linggong transport strike ng ilang grupo ng mga jeepney drivers.

Tiniyak ni LTFRB chairman Teofilo Guadiz III na kahit walang papasada na mga jeep simula March 6 hanggang 12 ay may masasakyan pa rin ang commuters.

Sinabi din ni Guadiz na nakipag-usap na siya sa mga LGU, ilang bus owner at pati na rin sa PNP.

“Kayang kaya namin punuan iyan. Kausap ko na ang Magnificent 7. Kasama ko na ang mga bus owners association. And those routes na hindi mapupunuan, nandyan na kami. Handa,” sey ng LTFRB chairman.

Dagdag pa niya, “Even for the peace and order, kausap na namin ang Philippine National Police and local government units. We are ready for next week.”

Bukod sa LTFRB, unan nang nag-anunsyo ang Quezon City, Taguig City, Caloocan City at Valenzuela na magkakaroon sila ng “Libreng Sakay.”

Kamakailan lang ay inanunsyo ng ilang grupo ng mga jeep na itutuloy nila ang isang linggong tigil-pasada.

‘Yan ay kahit pinalawig na ng Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ang deadline para sa pagpapatupad ng Public Utility Vehicle (PUV) Modernization Program ng gobyerno.

Kung maaalala, sinabi ng ilang jeepney groups na magsasagawa sila ng transport strike bilang pagtutol sa nasabing programa.

Tinatayang nasa 40,000 units ang hindi papasada sa Metro Manila simula March 6.
