‘Sumpa’ ng Miss Universe PH crown wa epek kay Celeste Cortesi; feeling lucky sa dyowang football player

MUKHANG hindi umubra ang sinasabing “sumpa” sa korona ng Miss Universe Philippines sa Pinay beauty queen na si Celeste Cortesi.
Ang ilan kasi sa mga kinoronahang Miss Universe Philippines nitong mga nagdaang taon ay bigla na lang nakikipaghiwalay sa kanilang mga boyfriend kasabay ng paglaban nila sa international pageant.
Kabilang na nga riyan sina Miss Universe 1999 1st runner-up Miriam Quiambao, Miss Universe 2012 1st runner-up Janine Tugonon, Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray, Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo at Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Beatrice Luigi Gomez.
Pero para kay Celeste Cortesi, walang taglay na “sumpa” ang kanyang korona bilang Miss Universe Philippines 2022, sa relasyon nila ng boyfriend na si Mathew Custodio na isang Filipino-British football player.
Sa panayam ng “Fast Talk with Boy Abunda” nitong Huwebes, February 23, sinabi ni Celeste na walang naging isyu sa pagsasama nila ni Mathew ang pagkapanalo niya sa Miss Universe Philippines last year.
“Mathew was very supportive. I think what’s really beautiful about our relationship is the fact that we give each other the space and understanding.
“We really understand each other’s needs, and he knew that Miss Universe was very important to me.

“So he was really there, especially when I did not get in the Top 16. He was beside me the whole time, together with my mother, friends. Sobrang grateful ako,” sey ni Celeste about her boyfriend.
Sa katunayan sumama pa ito sa kanya sa New Orleans, Louisiana, USA, nang lumaban siya sa 71st Miss Universe last January 14, 2023.
Dagdag pa ng dalaga, “I feel very lucky because sobrang supportive siya and, as I said, the fact that we give each other space and understanding in everything that we do, it’s really really important to me.
“He understands what I need, he understands what’s really important to me, and I don’t find it toxic at all. I feel like… I was just very lucky to find a guy that was as supportive as him,” lahad pa ng dalaga.
Nag-aaway din ba sila ni Mathew? “Of course! Sometimes we fight, that’s normal, but we know our boundaries.”
“Stupid things. Sometimes misunderstandings, but we always talk about it,” ang sagot naman ni Celeste sa tanong ni Tito Boy kung anu-ano ang madalas na dahilan ng pag-aaway nila ni Mathew.
At sa question kung seloso ang kanyang dyowa? “Konti lang. He will say no but I know the truth. But it’s normal especially when you really care about someone.
“But as long as there are boundaries and we assure each other, we communicate, we would overcome everything.
“I think communication is very important in a relationship and that’s we have, and that’s why we lasted for so long,” chika ni Celeste.
