JK Labajo kinarir ang pagri-research sa buhay ni Ninoy Aquino: 'It’s really a scary character to play'

“We really put in so much effort and then…grabe, grabe, grabe yung pinasok namin for this film,” ang sabi ni JK nang makachikahan ng press sa premiere night ng movie last February 18, sa Power Plant Mall ng Rockwell Center, Makati City.

Dagdag pa niya, “And I feel like the people deserve to see this film. Kasi it’s really well thought of. So ayun, I’m really excited honestly.”

Kasi nung binigay po sa akin ni Direk Vince yung character, I mean siyempre as an actor, it’s really a scary character to play.

“It’s a real person e, as compared to playing a character na fictional, right? Tapos, kinausap ko si Direk on how close does he want me to act as Sir Ninoy.

“And then sabi niya I don’t have to act as Ninoy as… actually at all. It’s not really parang, I don’t have to do it a hundred percent depiction of Sir Ninoy.

“Basically in a sense parang… Ninoy is acting as Juan Karlos,” aniya pa.

Maraming natutunan si JK habang ginagawa ang “Ako Si Ninoy”, “Well, definitely one thing that made me relate to Sir Ninoy was that he spent most of his life with many people not believing him, and not many people listening to him. And in some sort of way, I can relate to that.

“Kasi alam mo yun, especially in the showbiz industry, issues come up and all of these different accusations, and then even though you know the truth, sometimes people just don’t wanna believe you.

“And parang grabe yung isinakripisyo niya para sa bayan. As in pinili niyang bumalik ng Pilipinas kesa sa mag-live happily ever after with his family sa Boston. So I mean, grabe yung sakripisyong ginawa niya,” lahad pa ng binata.

“I don’t wanna talk about it. We are… but I don’t wanna waste my time there,” ang nakangiting sagot ng aktor at singer.
