Barbie Almalbis 25 years na sa music industry, makaka-‘jamming’ ang mga dating kabanda
MAGKAKAROON ng bonggang reunion concert ang alternative-rock icon na si Barbie Almalbis kasabay ng kanyang ika-25th anniversary sa music industry.
Pinamagatan itong “Firewoman: 25 Years of Barbie Almalbis” na nakatakdang mangyari sa March 11 sa Mandala Park sa Mandaluyong City.
Makaka-jamming niya riyan ang mga dati niyang ka-banda na “Hungry Young Poets” at “Barbie’s Cradle.”
Bukod diyan ay magtatanghal din ang ilang sikat na OPM bands at artists, kabilang na ang Sandwich, Gab Alipe ng Urbandub, Clara Benin, I Belong To The Zoo, Kai del Rio, at Bird.
Inamin ni Barbie sa isang pahayag na excited na siya sa kanyang upcoming concert at ito rin daw ay isang dream come true.
“While this is truly a dream for me, it was GNN Entertainment Productions who first believed it could happen and conceptualized the show,” sey ng singer.
Dagdag pa niya, “We reached out Ricci Gurango, Franklin Benitez, Rommel de la Cruz, Wendell Garcia, and Kakoy Legaspi, and we’re delighted that they were all excited to do it too. Ricci, who now lives in the US, is coming home to the Philippines for the show.”
Tila napa-senti mode pa ang alt-rock icon at inalala ang mga pinagsamahan ng kanyang mga dating ka-banda noon.
“I’m just so excited to play alongside some of my old friends, who also happen to be some my favorite musicians,” Patuloy ni Barbie.
Saad pa niya, “We have so many great memories, making music, touring, and growing up together. They’ve taught me so much over the years.”
“I’m just so grateful for this opportunity to jam with all of them on the show. I’m also looking forward to sharing the stage with many other artists I admire,” aniya.
Matatandaan noong 1996 pa nang mabuo ang bandang “Hungry Young Poets.”
Ngunit nagkawatak-watak ang mga miyembro nito kaya nagkaroon ng bagong banda si Barbie na “Barbie’s Cradle” noong 1998.
Taong 2005 nang mag-umpisa sa solo career ang singer at inilabas ang unang compilation album na “Barbie: The Singles.”
