Bongbong Marcos sinuspinde ang pagpapatupad ng dagdag Philhealth contribution

PANSAMANTALA munang pinasuspinde ni Pangulong Bongbong Marcos ang pagpapatupad ng pagtaas ng Philippine Health Insurance Corp (PhilHealth) contributions sa kanilang mga miyembro.

Alinsunod sa Section 10 ng Republic Act 11223 ay nakatakdang tumaas ng 4.5% ang kontribusyon mula sa dating 4% ngayong 2023.

Ang utos ni Pangulong Bongbong ay bunga ng patuloy na epekto ng COVID-19 pandemic sa bansa.

“In light of the prevailing socioeconomic challenges brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, and to provide financial relief to our countrymen amidst these difficult times, please be informed that the President has directed the PhilHealth to suspend the above mentioned increase in premium rate and income ceiling for CY 2023, subject to applicable laws, rules and regulations,” ayon sa inilabas ng memorandum ng Malacañang.

Ang naturang memorandum ay pirmado rin nin ni Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin.

Matatandaang noong 2021 ay sinuspinde rin ng dating Presidente Rodrigo Duterte ang nakatakdang rate hike dahil na rin sa COVID-19 pandemic.
