Alfred Vargas mas lalo pang ginanahang tumulong matapos tanggapin ang IVR award sa The EDDYS; balik-pelikula sa 2023

SUPER touched at tuwang-tuwa ang aktor at public servant na si Alfred Vargas matapos tanggapin ang kanyang award sa katatapos lang na 5th The EDDYS ng Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors o SPEEd.
Ayon kay Konsehal Alfred, isang malaking karangalan para sa kanya ang mapasama sa recipients ngayong taon ng The Isah V Red para sa ika-5 edisyon ng The EDDYS Choice.
Ang Isah V. Red Award ay isang pagkilala at pag-alala sa yumaong founding president ng SPEEd na si Isah V. Red na nagsimula lamang noong nakaraang taon.
“This recognition is given to individuals like him — a dynamic and spirited renaissance man with a deep love for God, country and community — who beyond the realm of entertainment has so enriched and made a difference in the lives of many, in his most colorful, gregarious and inimitable way,” ayon sa SPEEd president na si Eugene Asis.
Para naman kay Alfred, “Big honor for me ang award na ito. And to be included in the ranks of Gretchen Barretto, Kris Aquino, ABS-CBN Sagip Kapamilya at GMA Kapuso Foundation, is just so inspiring and meaningful to me. Wow! It’s such an honor! Thank you!”
Aniya pa, “Totally unexpected ang IVR Award na ito. Tuwing tumutulong ako, wala naman tayong ine-expect na kapalit. Turo sa akin ng nanay ko, helping others is its own reward.
“Totoo naman. Napakasarap ng pakiramdam kapag nakakatulong ka sa tao, di ba? Kaya ako siguro nilagay ni Lord dito sa public service para mas marami pa tayong matulungan along the way.

“Turo sa school noong bata pa ako, ‘to give and not to count the cost… to labor and ask not for reward,’” aniya pa.
“Mas ganado pako ngayon na lalong paigtingin ang mga projects sa distrito because of this award,” sabi pa ng aktor at councilor sa Quezon City.
Hindi din daw napigilan ni Alfred ang maging emosyonal nang mapanood ang “in memoriam” segment ng 5th The EDDYS kung saan isa-isang ipinakita ang mga yumaong personalidad sa mundo ng showbiz kabilang na ang mga miyembro ng media.
“Grabe, naiyak talaga ako sa tribute part lalo na when I saw Ricky Lo, Ricky Calderon, Shalala and the others, sobrang nakakalungkot,” sabi pa ng konsehal.
Samantala, para naman sa mga plano niya sa 2023, “Balik-pelikula ako next year and I’m very excited about this. I’ll do at least one film next year and kung swertehin, baka tatlo pa.
“I even got more inspired last night seeing the likes of Kuya Ipe (Phillip Salvador), Ms. Alma Moreno, Roi Vinzon, Ms. Divina Valencia, dedicate their lives and careers for the love of Philippine cinema.
“Ang dami nilang nagawa. Nakakabilib ang body of work nila. I hope one day magaya ko sila. Lalo ang sarap mahalin ng industriya because of great examples like them,” sabi pa ng aktor.
Ang mga binanggit niya ay mga pinarangalan bilang Icon awardees ng The EDDYS ngayong 2022.
