SUPER thankful ang actor-politician na si Alfred Vargas na nabigyan uli siya ng chance na umarte uli sa harap ng mga camera.

Ilang araw din siyang napanood sa Kapuso primetime series na “Legal Wives” kung saan talagang nagmarka ang kanyang karakter at pinuri ng mga manonood.

Ayon sa aktor, kahit maikli lang ang naging partisipasyon niya sa pinagbibidahang serye ni Dennis Trillo, na-enjoy naman niya ito nang bonggang-bongga.

“Unang-una, I’m very proud to be part of such a beautiful and important project. Natuwa ako na I get to act again kaya I really worked hard on my role as Nasser Makadatu. 

“Every role naman is a unique experience. Preparing for a role is always challenging and acting is always a fun experience. 

“GMA network has always given me meaningful roles. Gustong-gusto ko yung mga roles that inspire while challenging my craft. I think that’s what I love about being an actor,” pahayag ni Alfred sa isang panayam.

Aniya pa, nakakatuwa ang naging response ng viewers sa pagbabalik niya sa TV, “Actually, nagulat ako. Akala ko hindi mapapansin na nagbalik TV ako pero nagustuhan nila at maraming nga ang nanghinayang kasi namatay agad ang character ko. 

“It was a guest role. Short and meaty and sweet. At this point in my career, it’s really fulfilling na they still appreciate the effort I put into my craft,” sey ng kongresista.

Sa tanong kung ano ang timbang ng pagiging artista sa kanya ngayon, “Acting will always be my passion, it’s my first love. But I knew that I was destined to be in public service. It’s my vocation. 

“Simple lang naman ang reason kung bakit ako artista at kung bakit ako public servant. In both fields, I just want to inspire people in my own unique way. In that sense, I can create positive change. That’s my personal mission,” pahayag pa niya.

Tungkol naman sa pagiging artista at public servant, “When I chose to serve, I already embraced serving as part of my life. Kaya I can’t really accept roles that require prolonged stay sa lock-in taping. 

“Siyempre hindi pwedeng maapektuhan ang paglilingkod ko sa tao. Public service is my utmost priority. Pero pag maayos ang latag ng schedules, pag maganda at substantial ang role, walang conflict. 

“Acting and public service are already engraved in my heart. Hindi na siya trabaho para sa akin. I am blessed to have the opportunity to be in both fields,” chika pa niya.

Tinanong din siya kung ine-encourage ba niya ang tatlong anak na mag-showbiz, “Oo naman, napakalaking parte ng buhay ko ang pagiging artista, ‘yan ang bumuhay sa pamilya ko. 

“Pero I always tell them na never ko silang pipilitin kung ano man ang gusto nilang landas na tahakin. Malaki ang maitutulong ko if they become interested in this industry at lagi ko silang susuportahan and I’ll be the proudest father. 

“Actually, I see potential sa tatlo when it comes to the arts. Si Ching, yung panganay ko, has the eye sa photography. Si Aryana naman loves performing. At yung bunso ko, si Cristiano, laging ginagaya ang mga pinanood namin sa Netflix. 

“One time nga ginaya niya si Joey sa Friends, tawang-tawa kami. Mahalaga ang love and passion for the arts kahit hindi nila gawing profession. Art feeds your soul,” lahad pa niya.

Ito naman ang maipapayo niya sa mga gustong maging artista lalo ngayong pandemya, “I think it’s the perfect time for them. There are so many opportunities because of different online platforms. Kahit sino ka pa, kahit tagasaan ka pa, you have a chance to make it. 

“Here’s my advice, just be yourself. You don’t need to pretend to be somebody else. The pandemic is just a hurdle in the pursuit of your dreams. Challenging na hurdle pero kaya basta determinado. Work on your dreams without stepping on others. 

“At kapag nasa tuktok ka na, huwag mong kalimutan yung mga kaibigan at kasama na tumulong sa iyo dahil hindi mo ‘yan mararating nang mag-isa. Help others achieve their dreams as well. 

“I think that’s the important lesson I’ve learned in this industry. Aanhin naman natin ang kasikatan kung hindi naman tayo nakatulong sa iba, di ba?” sabi pa ni Alfred Vargas.
