Ian Veneracion sa pagsabak sa politika: Gusto kong mag-ipon ng kaibigan, hindi kaaway…OK na ako sa simpleng buhay

FEELING blessed and thankful ang seasoned actor na si Ian Veneracion dahil makalipas ang apat na dekada ay aktibung-aktibo pa rin siya sa entertainment industry.
Bukod sa pag-aartista ay kinakarir din ngayon ng aktor ang pagiging singer kaya naman mas lalo pang dumami ang kanyang mga tagasuporta, kabilang na riyan ang mga female fans na nahuhumaling sa kanyang kagwapuhan.
Nakachikahan namin si Ian nitong nagdaang Biyernes, October 21, kung saan ibinalita nga niya ang tungkol sa bago niyang project, ang mini-action series na “One Good Day”.
Ito ang first Pinoy mini-series na mapapanood sa Prime Video, produced by Studio Three Sixty at idinirek ni Lester Pimentel Ong. Kinunan ito sa ilang magagandang lugar sa Iloilo City.
Paglalarawan ni Ian sa karakter niya sa action-drama series na “One Good Day”, “I play Dale, a former mobster. Batang-kalye siya na tinulungan ni Joel Torre, na isa namang gambling lord.
“Dahil kay Dale, lumaki ang kanyang Rodrigo Crime Organization at naging very powerful kasi we can help put government officials in office,” aniya pa.
Bukod kay Joel, makakasama rin ni Ian dito sina Rabiya Mateo, Andrea Torres, Aljur Abrenica, Menchu Lauchengco, Pepe Herrera, Louise Abuel, Justin Cuyugan at Nicole Cordoves.
Ayon pa kay Ian, “When their offer came and they told me it’s going to be action, I got really excited. Kasi na-miss ko talaga mag-action.

“Lately, I’ve been identified with romantic drama with the series I do on TV and with my career as a singer. Dito, we introduce a new kind of action on screen, you’d be surprised,” sey ng aktor.
Unang nakilala si Ian bilang child actor hanggang sa i-launch ng Seiko Films bilang teen star sa mga horror films na “Anak ng Demonyo” at “Hiwaga sa Balete Drive”. Kasunod nito, sumikat na nga siya bilang action star sa mga pelikulang “Alyas Baby Face”, “Zaldong Tisoy” at “Bukas Tatakpan Ka ng Dyaryo”.
Pansamantalang nagpahinga si Ian sa mundo ng showbiz hanggang sa bumida uli siya sa mga teleserye ng ABS-CBN at magpakilig ng manonood sa “Pangako Sa’Yo” at “A Love to Last”.
At ngayong nagbabalik na nga siya sa pag-aaksyon, umaasa si Ian na magtutuluy-tuloy na ang muling pag-ariba ng action series at movies sa Pilipinas kung saan una siyang nakilala.
Nagkuwento rin si Ian tungkol sa director ng “One Good Day” na si Lester Pimentel Ong, na dati palang stuntman. Ilan sa mga naidirek niyang serye para sa ABS-CBN ay ang “La Luna Sangre” at “Bagani”.
“I’ve worked with him before sa ABS and he has very progressive ideas as he has worked with many foreign filmmakers. We got along fine as we have the same passion for motorcycles and martial arts.
“Very physically demanding lang ang role ko rito, so when we start each day, I ask him, o ilan ang papatayin ko ngayon. When he says, lima, then I ask him, ano, sa suntukan o barilan?” natatawang chika ng aktor.
Mas gusto pa rin daw ni Ian ang barilan kesa sa pisikalang bakbakan, “Barilan kasi is less exhausting kaysa sa physical combat. E, ako, wala akong double dito, I did everything, nagpasagasa pa ako sa kotse in one scene.
“But I enjoyed it all kasi today’s younger generation, they know me more doing drama on TV. Nagugulat sila when they learn I did action before so hopefully, this show will re-introduce me to younger viewers,” aniya pa.
Mapapanood na ang “One Good Day” sa Prime Video simula sa November 17.
Samantala, ngayong 2022 nga ay 40 years na sa showbiz si Ian, “I’m just so grateful for the respect of my peers, my directors, the networks, my friends from the press. Nakita na nila akong lumaki.
“And also to the people who keep supporting my projects, art exhibits, and concerts when I started going to music. Now movies and TV series. Nag-iiba na ang platform, but people are still supportive, and I am very grateful for that.
“It’s strange, I don’t know why. Maybe I must have done (something good) in my past life,” sabi ni Ian.
Sa tanong naman kung interesado ba siyang mag-join sa politics kung mabibigyan ng chance, “No, thank you. Ha-hahaha! Gusto kong mag-ipon ng kaibigan, hindi kaaway. I just want a simple, peaceful life. You know my lifestyle.
“I love guitars and motorcycles. That’s it. I don’t need a mansion, I don’t need sports cars. I don’t need to have my own plane because my motorcycle allows me to fly. Okay na ako sa simpleng buhay,” aniya pa.
