Paul tinanggihan ang alok ng Marcos admin na maging press secretary, hirit ng netizens: ‘Bakit hindi na lang si Toni?’
MAS gusto ni Direk Paul Soriano na magtrabaho sa likod ng kamera kaysa maging Press Secretary, ang posisyong iniwan ni Atty. Trixie Cruz-Angeles due to health reasons.
Sa panayam ng “TV Patrol” kay direk Paul ay inamin nitong inalok siya sa nasabing posisyon pero magalang niya itong tinanggihan dahil mas may qualified na puwedeng humawak ng posisyon.
Aniya sa news program ng ABS-CBN, “Yes, there was a conversation but I feel that the position needs more qualified people to help the President.
“I can be of better service behind the scenes working with the president’s media and communications team. I know my strengths, I know what I can give him. I am better utilized at the background than be in front of the camera,” sabi ng direktor.
Sa buong kampanya noon ni Presidente Bongbong Marcos, Jr. ay si direk Paul ang in-charge sa mga campaign material na ginamit ng UniTeam.
At nang manalo si PBBM ay ang hubby din ni Toni Gonzaga-Soriano ang nagdirek ng inauguration program nito na ginanap sa National Museum isama pa ang unang State of the Nation Address (SONA) ng Pangulo noong Hulyo 25, 2022 na ginanap sa Batasang Pambansa.

Dagdag pang sabi ni direk Paul, “At the end of the day, my main mandate is to send out the message that we have a hard-working leader that sadly people don’t see.
“As I told the president this morning, if there’s a need for me to help, I will be there in whatever capacity. At the sidelines, I’ve been supporting him from the start and I will continue to do that. He can count on us,” aniya.
May mga mirong netizens namang nagsabi na bakit hindi na lang si Toni G ang italagang press secretary.
Anyway, marahil kaya tinanggihan ni direk Paul ang posisyon bukod sa hindi siya pang on-camera ay sa dahilang aware siya sa 1987 Constitution Article Vll, Section 13 na bawal maging miyembro ng gabinete ang sinumang kamag-anak ng Pangulo tulad ng asawa, kaanak hanggang fourth civil degree.
Si direk Paul ay pamangkin ni First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos dahil pinsan nito si Jeric Soriano na ama ng una.
