Miss Philippines Earth nag-disqualify ng 3 kandidata dahil kinapos sa height
USAP-USAPAN ngayon ang Miss Philippines Earth dahil sa kontrobersyal na pg-disqualify nito ng tatlong kandidata dahil height requirement.
Sina Angela Okol ng Surigao, Cess Cruz ng Antipolo at Renee Coleen Sta. Teresa ng Batangas ang mga na-disqualify nitong Huwebes dahil kinapos ito sa nakasaad na height requirement ng naturang beauty pageant.
Marami nga ang nagulat sa biglaang pagkakatanggal ng mga dalaga dahil sumalang na ang mga na-disqualify sa virtual preliminary competitions ng Miss Philippines Earth.
Ngunit nanindigan ang organizer na so Lorraine Schuck sa naging desisyon nila na tanggalin ang tatlong kandidata.
“The Miss Philippines Earth pageant has its own criteria. Prospective candidates must meet those requirements including the standard 5-foot-4 minimum height requirement,” saad ni Schuck sa kanyang panayam sa ABS-CBN News.
Aniya, 22 years na nilang sinusunod ang criteria na ito kahit pa tinanggal na ito ng ibang mga local beauty pageants.
“I am sad at nakakahinayang talaga kasi ang gaganda nila and they’re bright but we also have to be fair with other candidates who have complied with the requirements,” dagdag pa ni Miss Philippines Earth organizer.
Naganap ang pagsusukat ng actual height ng mga kandidata ng naturang beauty pageant nitong Huwebes, July 7, bago maganap ang pagpili ng Top 20 mamayang gabi.
Sa Coron, Palawan naman magaganap ang finals at coronation night ng Miss Philippines Earth na mangyayari sa August 6.
Ito rin ang kauna-unanhang pagkakaroon ng live audience ng patimpalak matapos ang dalawang taong virtual competitions dahil na rin sa COVID-19 pandemic.
“We thank Angela Okol of Del Carmen, Surigao; Cess Cruz of Antipolo City; and Renee Coleen Sta. Teresa of Ibaan, Batangas for their hard work in supporting the MPE and its advocacies and promoting their respective municipalities through their eco-tourism videos.
“Their videos will remain in our site and online platform and will still be considered for special awards,” sey ni Schuck.
Labis naman ang disappointment na nararamdaman ng tatlong kandidatang na-disqualify lalo na’t nag-invest na rin ang mga ito ng oras, pagod, at gumastos na rin ang mga ito para sa kompetisyon.
Gayunpaman ay nagpasalamat ang mga ito sa nga taong sumuporta sa kanilang Miss Philippines Earth journey.
Samantala, nanindigan naman si Schuck na hindi pa rin nila aalisin ang height requirement sa kompetisyon.
