Lucky Me! nilinaw na walang Ethylene Oxide sa kanilang produkto

NAGLABAS na ng pahayag ang instant noodles brand na “Lucky Me!” kasunod ng babala ng gobyerno ng Ireland, France, at Malta ukol sa pagkonsumo sa kanilang produkto.

Iniulat kasi ng ilang bansa na mayroon umanong mataas na lebel ng Ethylene Oxide ang nasabing instant noodles.

Ang Ethylene Oxide ay isang mapanganib na kemikal na karaniwang ginagamit sa paggawa ng pesticide at disinfectant.

Ayon sa “Lucky Me!”, walang inilalagay na Ethylene Oxide sa kanilang mga produkto.

“We would like to clarify that Ethylene Oxide is not added in Lucky Me! products. It is a commonly used treatment in spices and seeds to control microbial growth typical in agricultural products,” saad nito.

Dagdag nito, “These materials, when processed into seasoning and sauces, may still show traces of Ethylene Oxide.”

Tiniyak din nito na rehistrado ang lahat ng kanilang produkto sa Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Tumalima din anila ito sa local food safety standards ng Philippine at U.S. FDA.

Samantala, sinabi ni Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire na nagsasagawa na ng imbestigasyon ang FDA ukol sa natagpuang Ethylene Oxide sa naturang skita na instant noodles.
