‘Gumagalang hayop sa UP kinakatay ng mga walang makain’ fake news

ITINANGGI ng University of the Philippines-Diliman na kinakain na ng mga stranded na construction workers sa loob ng campus ang mga gumagalang hayop doon at mga prutas sa mga puno ng paaralan.

Sa inilabas na COVID-19 Bulletin, sinabi ng Office of the Vice-Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD) na nakausap nila ang mga manggagawang ito.

Nakatanggap umano ang mga ito ng P4,000 noong Marso 17 at P2,000 noong Abril 14 mula sa kanilang employer.

“The OVCPD also inspected their supply room, which contains 3 sacks of rice (25 kilos each) and canned goods from the All UP Workers Union and other organizations inside the campus.”

Ayon sa isang empleyado nagulat din sila sa kumalat na balita na pinapatay na nila ang mga gumagalang hayop para kainin. Ang mga litrato ay kuha umano ng isang grupo na nagbigay ng relief goods.

“Rest assured that the UPD-COVID-19 Task Force is doing everthing it can to meet the needs of all sectors under UP Diliman.”
