Ronnie Carrasco III - December 16, 2019 - 12:25 AM

Kumpirmado na ring kakanselahin ang Daig Kayo Ng Lola Ko ni Tita Glo to give way to Sen.

Again, we stand our ground na wala namang kaso should GMA welcome him back via a regular show.

After all, prior to the pork barrel debacle ay sa nasabing istasyon huling napanood ang pinaratangang mambabatas.

What seems off, however, is the show’s target audience it being an action-fantasy sort of thing na mga bata ang siyang mga manonood.

Pardon our lapses in aesthetic judgment particularly our oversight na tiyak na nasa nominees’ list ng Best Festival Actor category si Joem Bascon.

Joem appears in “Culion”, isa sa mga walong opisyal na kalahok to this year’s Metro Manila Film Festival.

All along, we zeroed in on Aga Muhlach sa Pinoy adaptation ng isang Korean material. Nakaligtaan namin na oo nga pala, aside from the male lead stars in other MMFF entries who get automatically nominated ay “nag-e-exist” si Joem.

In not too many serious dramas on TV have we chanced upon Joem, pero sa kakaunting pagkakataong ‘yon, he never fails to impress us with either the subtlety or severity of his acting na malalim ang pinaghuhugutan.

As always, Joem’s brand of raw acting comes out with intensity, parang lalaking Cherry Pie Picache lang ang peg.

Kung tutuusin pa nga, Aga has this disturbing tendency to ham it up, always conscious of what is expected of him rather than attack his role with ease.
