BB Gandanghari inireklamo ang pagtawag sa kanya ng ‘Rustom’

BB Gandanghari was miffed when revered entertainment editor, our idol, Ricky Lo, addressed him as Rustom in a text to Mariel Rodriguez.

BB posted tito Ricky’s text message and encircled “Rustom” and “him” to drive home his point. She felt it was an act of misgendering. In a long aria on her Instagram account, ito ang post ni BB.

“#misgendered.. A Friendly Reminder (praying emoji). What is misgendering?

“For people who are transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming, coming into their authentic gender can be an important and affirming step in life.

“Sometimes, people continue to refer to a person who is transgender, nonbinary, or gender nonconforming using terms related to how they identified before transition.

“This is known as misgendering. Misgendering occurs when you intentionally or unintentionally refer to a person, relate to a person, or use language to describe a person that doesn’t align with their affirmed gender. For example, referring to a woman as ‘he’ or calling her a ‘guy’ is an act of misgendering.

“Paging @therealrickylo. With all due respect, Tito Ricky but I don’t think I can allow anyone to misgender me or even call me by my former name. My preferred pronoun is HER and SHE, and you may call me BB. or by my LEGAL name Binibini,” she added.

BB’s followers reacted and sided with tito Ricky. For them, she is just being maarte.

“I have an uncle just like you but we still call him Uncle or Col kasi yun ang nakasanayan namin. But he never corrected us.”

“Even if, ‘wag lang sana maarti’ – just be friendly- big deal ba?!”

Napaka-gender sensitive pala nitong si Rustom, este, BB Gandanghari!!!

As reported by an online portal, nag-react ang Philippine Medical Association via a statement against singer Yeng Constantino who ranted against a hospital and a doctor sa kanyang vlog.

“The Philippine Medical Association stands in full support of Dr. Esterlina Luzares Tan, a Life Member of PMA, against the statement of Ms. Yeng Constantino in the recent incident in Dapa Siargao Hospital.

“Dr. Esterlina Luzares Tan’s calm and composed attitude during the incident is commendable.

“Her extra effort to study how to operate an Infra Scanner, a new modality in her area, to ensure that Ms. Yeng Constantino’s husband does not suffer from any intra cerebral hemorrhage which may be obtained from cliff diving, is also admirable.
