AFTER Christmas na nang tipunin ni Alden Richards ang entertainment press for a thanksgiving toast at his resto in Q.C..
Personally, we never received an invitation to the event which was consistent naman dahil sa ilang pagkakataong hinarap ni Alden ang showbiz media, not a single casual text invite—kahit pabakla—had ever found its way into our mobile phone’s inbox.

What was a broadcast journalist in public service doing at a showbiz event?
Ito marahil ang nagtatakang tanong as Public Service Lady Nina Taduran (of Radyo 5’s Wanted, co-anchor ni Sir Raffy Tulfo) hosted the recently concluded FAMAS awards night at the Heritage Hotel.
Hindi naman showbiz si Ms. Nina, but whose good looks could pass for a showbiz celebrity. Together with Gani Oro, ang dapat sana’y magpi-present lang ng award for a major category na si Nina was the production’s last-minute—yet perfect—choice to host the (taped as live) program.
For years now, laging presentor si Nina sa Gabi ng Parangal ng FAMAS so her familiarity with the proceedings is beyond question. Pero teka, kakayanin kaya niyang bunuin ang buong pagtatanghal?
Having earned the FAMAS President’s confidence and admiration, Nina successfully pulled it off. The entire show ran very smoothly without any glitches. Hindi rin daw ikinompromiso ng pamunuan ang mga ipinagkaloob na tropeo.
Having seen her hosting photos splashed on her Facebook account, biniro namin si Nina. Tiyak kasing magsisilbing springboard ang hosting niyang ‘yon sa marami pang raket in the future, “Ang problema lang kasi that time, Kuya Ron, medyo tumaba ako nang konti. ‘Yung supposed to be na isusuot ko, hindi nagkasya sa akin!”
Slipping into another outfit, mas lumutang at napansin—hindi ang kasuotan ni Nina kundi ang kanyang spontaneity in hosting. Partida: walang script ‘yon!
