We will not be surprised if Ken Chan is now a superstar in China. After all, bongga ang airing ng kanyang toothpaste commercial sa nasabing bansa which has a total population, if we’re not mistaken, of two billion people.

How did he get the part? “Actually naghahanap ang China ng new endorser ng Colgate so nagpa-screening sila sa buong Asia like Thailand, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines etcetera.

So nu’ng nagpunta po sila dito sa atin I took the chance and luckily ako ‘yung nakuha na endorser and airing na po sa buong China.

“Nag-shoot po ako nu’ng March 28 ng TVC for this and April 4 naman ‘yung sa billboard,” he said in an interview.

Ken recalled feeling jittery during the TVC shoot, “Sobrang nakakakaba nu’ng shoot day na kasi pumunta yung mga clients from different countries representative ng P&G. I had so much fun!

Napakabait ng buong production, sobrang alaga nila ako and naging kaibigan ko din sila.” On why he was chosen, Ken said, “They’re looking for a celebrity na Asian guy. So hanap nila ay chinito.”

When asked kung iga-grab niya ang opportunity kung may offer from China because of his commercial, nagpakatotoo ang binata and said, “I’ll take the opportunity kasi bihira lang ang magkaroon ng chance sa international showbusiness.”

So, we have a potential Asian Superstar in our midst and that’s Ken.
