UNTIL now ay hindi pa rin makapaniwala ang food vlogger at tinaguriang “Lumpia Queen” na si Abi Marquez na nakasama at nakachika niya ang international celebrity chef na si Gordon Ramsay.
Nangyari ito sa naganap na meet-and-greet para sa sikat na sikat na British restaurateur sa Newport Performing Arts Theater, Pasay City kamakailan.
Dito, na-impress si Gordon sa ginawa niyang lumpia version ng kilalang Beef Wellington ng international chef.
“Grabe yung experience. Hanggang ngayon hindi ako makapaniwala. Para sa akin, ayon na talaga yung ultimate dream ko. It’s a mix of super fulfilled, super honored ka to meet your long-running idol, and disbelief,” ang pahayag ni Abi sa panayam ng Push.
“I know how difficult it is to be able to work with that big of a personality. I’ve gone to the US to do collaborations and I just know na even for those people who live close to him or who are already people I respect, I think even then, they don’t get to have this opportunity like what we just had.

“We are very honored and lucky that we have that chance,” aniya pa.
Kuwento pa ni Abi, hindi planado ang makasaysayang collab nila ni Gordon sa Pilipinas, “Noong in-announce sila na nag-status siya, I think they also sent out invitation and I heard my friends also got it, alam ko na magkakaroon siya ng event but the collaboration I didn’t know it until that weekend noong nag-comment siya.

“My team, my management and his management worked things out. It really helped because nasave talaga yung organic first ever meet namin during the shoot,” sey pa ng food vlogger.
“His presence is really light, warm and that’s what I really like about him. It’s something that I kinda expected it because being a fan for a very long time, I’ve seen different versions of him in the media in Hell’s Kitchen na medyo roar (galit).
“Pero we’ve seen him in MasterChef Junior or Kitchen Nightmares or in his other shows where he really is just chill and how well he connects with people and the side of him that really cares about you,” she complimented the chef.
“Noong nakita ko siya, doon ko na-confirm, na-validate na this person is really special because of the way he connects with other people and to be that person during that day, wow, screaming, crying, throwing up,” aniya pa.
Patuloy pang kuwento ni Abi sa ulat ng ABS-CBN, “Pinaghandaan ko siya ng sobra to the point na I was confident na this is the best it could be. After three to four times in the test kitchen, just figuring out the right temp, what’s the right time to fry this.
“Noong tinikman na ni Chef Ramsay, ang sabi niya visually looks stunning and then tinikman niya. Hindi lang ipinakita sa collaboration video namin but yung space between ‘I’m sorry I don’t like it, tinikman niya and binababa niya yung lumpia, sinabi niya iyong I’m sorry, ang tagal noon.
“Sobrang kinakabahan ako. ‘I’m sorry’, napakahabang pause, ‘I don’t like it’, napakahabang pause. Everybody in the room was like, ‘Do we cancel the shoot?’
“Pero nu’ng sinabi niya na ‘I don’t like it. I f*ck*n love it,’ imagine how relieve I felt kaya napatalon ako and hinampas ko pa siya. Reasonable para kasing ‘Chef, pinakaba mo ako.’ Tuloy ang shoot, tuloy and collab and I am really happy na nagustuhan niya,” chika pa ni Abi.
