Nawalang painting ni Amorsolo natagpuan na, 2 suspek huli –NBI

NABAWI ng National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) ang ninakaw na painting sa Negros Occidental.

Magugunitang naging usap-usapan sa social media ang “Mango Harvester” na ipininta ng national artist na si Fernando Amorsolo matapos mawala sa sikat na private museum na Hofileña Museum sa Silay City.

Nitong Biyernes, July 12, ibinandera ni NBI Director Jaime Santiago ang na-recover na 1936 masterpiece at sinabing nakuha nila ito sa isang entrapment operation.

Kwento ni Santiago, nakakuha sila ng tip mula sa nagngangalang “Atty. Ching” kung saan sinabing may nagbebenta ng kaparehong obra sa halagang P3.5 million.

Isinagawa ang operasyon noong Huwebes, July 11, sa Tomas Morato sa Quezon City at nadakip ang dalawang nag-deliver ng painting na sina Ritz Chona Ching at Donecio Somaylo.

Ang dalawang supek ay dinala sa Department of Justice para sa inquest proceedings at nahaharap sa mga reklamong paglabag sa Presidential Decree 1612 o Anti-Fencing Law. 

Para sa kaalaman ng marami, ang inquest proceedings ay isang paraan upang matukoy kung ang isang indibidwal na inaresto na walang warrant ay palalayain dahil ibinasura ang kaso o kaya naman ay para sa karagdagang paglilitis o kakasuhan sa korte.

Kung curious naman kayo kung ano ang nangyari sa painting ni Amorsolo.

Ito ay na-turnover na sa National Museum of the Philippines upang i-assess mabuti.

Ang nag-inspeksyon nito ay ang National Museum Director-General na si Jeremy Barns at tiniyak na ito ang ninakaw na obra.

Nag-isyu na rin si Barns ng sertipikasyon bilang katibayan na tunay ang nasabing painting ni Amorsolo.
