OPM musician Dia Maté proud na proud maging pambato ng Cavite sa MUPH 2024

NI-REVEAL na ng Cavite ang magiging pambato nila para sa darating na Miss Universe Philippines 2024 competition.
Siya’y walang iba kundi ang OPM musician na si Dia Maté!
Na-witness ng BANDERA ang sashing event ni Dia kamakailan lang na ginanap sa Makati at kasabay niyan ay inihayag niya kung gaano siya ka-proud na irepresenta ang kanyang probinsya.

Sa question and answer portion kasama ang ilang piling entertainment press, nausisa kung bakit tinanggap ng singer ang challenge na maging pambato ng Cavite.
“First of all, I am Cavitena…my family has been in Cavite for generations and not only I am Cavitena, I am proud to be one. I am proud of my province because it is the ‘Historical Capital of the Philippines,’ and that is where Emilio Aguinaldo was born, and that’s where [Julian] Felipe was born and he made our National Anthem,” kwento ni Dia.
Dagdag niya, “So I am so proud and blessed and honored to be able to represent my province with so much culture and history that provided our country’s independence.”

Nabanggit din ni Dia na hindi siya makapaniwala na matutupad niya ang pangarap na maging kandidata ng Miss Universe Philippines.
“It really feels unreal to me,” pag-amin niya sa press conference.
Paliwanag niya, “You know, I always look up to the Miss Universe platform, such an influential platform that brings good to people and I feel so humbled and grateful to be able to carry this sash, and to bring light to advocacies and to just make the Cavitenos proud.”
“All in all, I’m just so excited to you know, promote Cavite, the tourism of Cavite, and just showcase what Cavitenos are, how good we can be,” ani pa niya.
Nabigyan din ng pagkakataon ang BANDERA na tanungin si Dia kung sino-sino sa Pinay beauty queens ang idol na idol niya na nagkaroon ng impact sa kanyang buhay at karera.
Diretsa naman itong sinagot ng MUPH Cavite representative at ibinunyag na ilan lamang sa mga naging inspirasyon niya ay sina Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach at Miss Universe 2018 Catriona Gray.
“I have two in mind, actually. First, it has to be, of course, Miss Pia Wurtzbach..I have heard so many things about her. She is kind, humble and she’s so nice to everyone she meets and I guess, it has influenced me to be that way as well and to be of course, be kind to everyone, treat everyone the same,” chika niya.
Patuloy niya pa, “Another queen that I look up to was also Catriona. You know, she won and she is also a musician. And when I learned about Catriona, she would also perform in indie gigs…like I do right now. So it’s very nice to see that a queen was once doing the things that I did. I meet her once in an event and she’s the sweetest, nicest, kindest woman.”

At speaking of pagiging singer, naitanong namin kay Dia kung paano na niya ito babalansehin ngayong sumabak na rin siya sa pageant industry.
“As a Miss Universe candidate, there’s a lot of responsibility that I hold and I do have to put my duties there right now. But my love for music is always going to be there, and of course, when I have my free time, I will be working on my music and my craft and continue to improve on that while I am on my Miss Universe journey,” sambit niya.
Patuloy niya, “Because it really is something that helps with my mental health as well, and it gives me the motivation and drive as well.”
“You know, when you connect the two, being able to do music and Miss Universe as well, balancing is very empowering,” ani pa ng singer-beauty queen.
Samantala, ang magwawagi sa Miss Universe Philippines pageant ay nakatakdang koronahan ng reigning queen na si Michelle Dee at ilalaban sa international competition sa Mexico.
