TVJ wagi sa trademark ng ‘Eat Bulaga’: Nanalo po tayo!
KALIWA’T kanan ang nabasa namin sa social media na bumabati sa TVJ o sina Tito Sotto, Vic Sotto, at Joey de Leon na hosts ngayon ng “E.A. T” sa TV5.
Ito ay kaugnay sa kanilang pagkapanalo at magagamit na nila ang titulong “Eat Bulaga” o “EB” na sila rin mismo ang nagmamay-ari.
Nagkaroon ng FB live ang TVJ kaninang alas singko ng hapon para ibalita ang matagal na nilang hinihintayna magandang balita mula sa Marikina Regional Trial Court na panalo sila sa isinampa nilang copyright infringement case against TAPE, Inc na ibig sabihin ay pinatitigil silang gamitin ang “Eat Bulaga” at EB dahil hindi otorisado ang nasabing kumpanya o programa ng GMA 7.
Ayon kay Tito Sen ay nakatanggap siya ng email mula sa korte at dahil sobrang mahaba ang pagpapaliwanag ay babasahin na lang niya ang pinaka-buod nito.
Bungad ng isa sa “EAT” host, “Gusto po namin na kayo na mga kaibigan namin (tagasubaybay ng EAT) ang dapat makaalam ng balitang ito.
“Where for judgement is hereby rendered in favor of the plaintiffs (TVJ, Jenny Ferre at Direk Poochie Rivera)) against the defendants permanently enjoining defendants Television and Production Exponents (TAPE) Inc. and GMA Network, Inc. from:
“1. Using the trademarks EB, Eat Bulaga, Eat Bulaga, and EB, including all the logos associated with the subject parts in its shows, programs, projects or promotions and…
“2. Using the Eat Bulaga jingle/song or any part thereof in its shows, programs, projects or promotions and…

“3. Airing and broadcasting a playback of any and all recorded episodes of the Eat Bulaga show prior to 31st May 2023, its segments or any portion thereof in all channels and platforms.
“Moreover, defendants marami pang damages na binabanggit at lahat po ay in favor sa atin.
Nabanggit din ang tungkol sa, “The Intelectual Property Office of the Philippines through its proper unit/head officer is hereby directed to cause the cancellation of the following trademark registrations in the names of Television Production Exponents Incorporated from its records, database and or registry to it. ‘Yun po yung pinakalaman ng dispositive portion.”
Pahayag ni Vic: “Sa madaling-salita, e, nanalo po tayo (palakpakan ang lahat ng nasa TV5 studio).”
Baka Bet Mo: Joey de Leon may patikim sa bagong pasabog ng TVJ: ‘We are waiting for the return of another BOLA or BULA…gets nyo?’
Dagdag ni Tito Sen, ‘yung aming sinasabi na tayo po ang may-ari ng Eat Bulaga! Maraming salamat sa iyong pagtangkilik. Maraming salamat sa dasal, at unang-una sa lahat sa Panginoong Diyos. Thank you very much my dear Lord God.”
“Sa madaling salita, atin talaga ang Eat Bulaga!” sambit ni Vic sabay tawag sa lahat ng staff nilang bumubuo ng programa at kinanta nila ang theme song ng Eat Bulaga!
Samantala, nakarating naman sa amin na magpa-file ng appeal ang TAPE sa naging desisyon ng Marikina Regional Trial Court tungkol dito at na-sopresa raw sila sa ibinabang deisyon na ito.
