Gabby Eigenmann nagpataba pa para sa role na Commander Robinson sa ‘Voltes V: Legacy’: ‘Ngayon naman nahihirapan akong magpapayat’

NOONG kasagsagan ng COVID-19 pandemic at walang pinagkakaabalahang trabaho ay talagang nag-gain ng timbang ang Kapuso actor na si Gabby Eigenmann.
Ngunit sa halip na maging disadvantage ito sa kanyang showbiz career ay nakatulong pa nga para makasama siya sa powerhouse cast ng upcoming GMA primetime series ng “Voltes V: Legacy.”
Si Gabby ang napiling gumanap na Commander Robinson sa first live action adaptation ng hit Japanese anime series na “Voltes V” na mapapanood na sa GMA Telebabad simula sa May 8.

Si Commander Robinson ang leader ng Earth Defense Force na nagpoprotekta sa mundo laban sa mga aliens. Isa rin siya sa mga bumuo sa robot na si Voltes V. Siya rin ang tatay ni Ysabel Ortega sa serye na gaganap na Jamie Robinson, isa sa limang miyembro ng Voltes V team.
Inamin ni Gabby na ang isa sa pinakamatinding challenge na hinarap niya sa serye ay ang itsura ni Commander Robinson, “At first, challenging is the physical, physical look because we all know Commander Robinson is a really, really big guy.

“So nakatulong yung after surviving this pandemic, yes, I gained a little weight. But it helped me also na since binigay sa akin yung character na Commander Robinson, sabi ko, ‘Sige! Should I put on a little more weight?’

“Para at least yung ma-feel ko yung pagiging, kasi really, big guy siya, e. Then, na-achieve naman, I really looked big sa screen. But then again nandu’n yung, hindi naman nagkakaroon ng regrets, kasi ngayon, nahihirapan akong magpapayat,” sey ni Gabby sabay tawa.
“I’m getting there. Pero iyon, isa yun sa medyo naging challenging for me, to maintain that look, a big guy look. But at the end of the day, since natapos na namin, ito na nga ang next challenge ko, how to lose that weight again,” sey pa ng aktor.
Bukod dito, isa pa sa kinarir ni Gabby para mas mabigyan ng hustisya ang kanyang role ay ang mga dialogue, “Kasi there’s… the lines that are given sa script pa lang, usually, yes we study it, we memorize it.
“But when we come to the set nag-iiba siya kasi may mga jargons, different terms, scientific terms. Actually sa lahat ng mga projects na nagawa ko sa GMA, it’s all challenging.
“This one it’s different because first time ako na mag-lead at mag-command. So dun ako nahirapan sa mga commands. Like, pag kunyari andiyan na yung mga aliens, yung mga beast fighter na ganyan.

“There are terms na medyo, ‘Uy, puwede bang ulitin natin yun? Puwede bang ulitin kung paano ko sabihin?’ Kasi, mahirap, mahirap intindihin in a way, but along the way medyo nasasanay na kami.
