Dolly de Leon napiling ‘jury chair’ para sa 1st Summer MMFF; sinu-sino nga ba ang magwawagi sa Gabi ng Parangal?

NGAYONG araw, April 11, na magaganap ang 1st Summer Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi ng Parangal sa New Frontier Theater, Cubao, Quezon City.
Ngayong 12 noon naman ibabandera ng Summer MMFF 2023 ang lahat ng mga nominado para sa iba’t ibang kategorya mula sa walong official entry.
Kasabay nito, in-announce rin ang pagpili sa award-winning actress na si Dolly de Leon bilang head ng jury na siyang manghuhusga sa mga magwawagi sa first summer edition MMFF.

“Known for her excellence and integrity as an artist and as a person, the MMFF Execom has chosen Dolly Earnshaw de Leon, an internationally acclaimed Filipino film, television, and theater actress as Jury Chair of the 1st Summer MMFF,” ang bahagi ng official statement ng Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).

Sabi pa ng mga organizer ng ginaganap ngayong filmfest, “De Leon will head a group of very credible jury members” to be named along with the winners during the Gabi ng Parangal of the pioneering Summer MMFF that will take place on Tuesday night at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.”
Sunud-sunod na parangal ang natanggap ni Dolly hindi lang dito sa Pilipinas kundi maging sa iba’t ibang bansa para sa kanyang Palme d’Or-winning film “Triangle of Sadness.” Itinanghal siyang Best Supporting Actress sa Guldbbage Awards sa Sweden at sa Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards.
Gumawa rin siya ng kasaysayan sa mundo ng showbiz matapos ma-nominate sa pagka-best supporting actress sa Golden Globes at British Academy Film Awards.
Babalik ang premyadong aktres sa Amerika anytime soon para sa shooting ng kanyang upcoming films, kabilang na ang “Grand Death Lotto” kung saan makakasama niya sina John Cena, Awkwafina, at Simu Liu. Ito’y mula sa direksyon ng three-time Oscar nominee na si Paul Feig.
Makakasama rin si Dolly sa bagong movie ni Kathryn Bernardo na “A Very Good Girl” mula sa ABS-CBN Productions.
