Pelikula nina Lav Diaz at John Lloyd Cruz winner sa India filmfest

KINILALA sa ibang bansa ang pelikula ni Direk Lav Diaz!
Nakuha niya ang “Special Jury Prize” sa 53rd International Film Festival para sa kanyang drama film na may titulong “Kapag Wala Nang Mga Alon.”
Ito ay pinagbibidahan ng award-winning actor na si John Lloyd Cruz.
Nakapanayam ng Inquirer Entertainment ang direktor tungkol sa kanyang latest achievement at sinabi niya na bukod sa nakuhang panalo, ang pinakamahalaga sa kanya ay ‘yung iniiwang mensahe ng mga ginagawa niyang pelikula.
Sey ni Direk Lav, “The award is merely a bonus. You don’t ask for one or expect people to give it to you.”
“You should let your work speak for itself. When you receive one, this means people realized the value of your work so you say thanks,” aniya.
Ang film festival sa India ay nangyari noong November 20 hanggang 28.
Umiikot ang istorya ng “Kapag Wala Nang Mga Alon” sa buhay ni Lt. Hermes Papauran na may matinding karamdaman.
Ayon kay Direk Lav, si John Lloyd ay isang “living example that it is possible for an actor to widen his views and consciousness, as well as to be responsible for what he offers to his audience.”
Nakwento pa ng direktor na kakaiba ang kultura ng India pagdating sa mga pelikula.
Chika niya, “The cinema culture in India is something else. People there are crazy about cinema.
“It’s really part of their lives. It is embedded in their traditions, relationships, and most especially their discourses.”
Patuloy pa niya, “It was only in India where I experienced a full-packed cinema even though ‘Ebolusyon ng Isang Pamilyang Pilipino’ ran for 11 hours.
“It was also there where I heard of people waiting for hours, even days, just to be able to talk to me—these are scholars and fans of cinema. When I finally got to speak with them, what we had was a rational discussion, a conversation on the soul of cinema.”
Matatandaang bukod sa India film fest ay lumahok din ang “Kapag Wala Nang Mga Alon” sa 79th Venice International Film Festival sa Italy noong Agosto.
