Annabelle Rama at Ruffa Gutierrez

“I remember there was a time in her life that the doctors said bawal na siyang mag-manage kasi bawal siyang ma-stress kaya medyo nag-lie low siya sa pagma-manage ng mga artista,” pahayag ng aktres.

Ngunit nilinaw niya na mananatili pa ring co-manager ang kanyang ina, “But because she’s my mom, she’s never gonna go away and I honor her. So, Viva will be managing my career, she will be there as my co-manager, and I just want my mom to be happy.

“Kanina nga, binibiro ko si Boss Vic, ‘Bigyan mo naman ng envelope si Mommy to make her feel important.’ Masaya na ‘yan, di ba?

“Kunyari lagi siyang kasali. Kunyari, she’s always part of the equation, so let’s give it to her because we should always honor our parents, kahit na makulit si Mommy minsan. Kahit inaaway niya ako lagi, but that’s the way she is.

“Ang maganda kay Mommy ngayon, she has Boss Vic and the Viva family to handle my career.

“And she’s always gonna be a part of my life and my career, not only because she’s my mom, but I think my mom also has a lucky streak.

“Anything mom touches also turns into gold, and marunong talaga siyang makisama sa mga tao,” aniya pa.

“I am very, very honored and excited to be a part of Viva Artists Agency.

And, of course, dahil nauna ang Regal Films.

“But you know, napakaliit po ng industriya kasi umiikot lang naman tayo in circles and now, after how many decades, two decades, I’m here now with Viva.

“Matagal na po akong nililigawan ng Viva. Every time we would bump into each other, ‘O, kailan ka pipirma sa amin?’ So, ako naman, tawa-tawa lang.

“But when we did Maid in Malacañang, I think it really sealed the deal because ang pinakamaganda with Viva is all my projects with Viva had been very successful from our first production—Pinakamagandang Hayop sa Balat ng Lupa Ngayon (1995) — lahat ng pelikula na ginawa ko sa Viva puro naging successful.

“I think it just come with timing and, for me, this is the right time,” sabi pa ni Ruffa.
