Jaime Fabregas kontra sa pagkakaroon ng ROTC: Teach our children to love their country!
TUTOL ang batikang aktor na si Jaime Fabregas sa muling pagbabalik ng Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) sa kolehiyo.
Noong Agosto 3, ibinahagi ng batikang aktor ang kanyang pagkontra rito sa pamamagitan ng kanyang Twitter account.
“Teach the children to love their country and you won’t need to send them to ROTC! They will defend HER with everything they have!!” saad ni Jaime.
Matatandaang isa sa mga iminumungkahi noon pa man ni Vice President at Department of Education Sec. Sara Duterte ang pagkakaroon at pagbabalik ng ROTC at CAT sa mga paaralan na sinang-ayunan rin naman ng iba pang mga mambabatas.
Gaya ni Jaime, may mga netizens rin ang umalma sa muling pagpapatupad ng pagbabalik ng ROTC at sinabing may iba pang mga bagay na mas mahalaga kaysa rito.
“Remove trapo & family of politicians who think they own the Philippines. At pakiusap naman mga kababayan, wag naman tayo magsumamo sa mga lintek na trapo at mga artista. Sinasamba n’yo kahit wala naman alam & di naman makakatulong. Sus naman oh! Di naman tayo alipin eh,” saad ng isang netizen.
Comment naman ng isa, “Remove corrupt leaders to make the country as lovable as can be.”
“Teach the politicians to love our country at wag nilang nakawan. GANON ka simple!” hirit pa ng isa.
May ilan naman na kumontra sa sinabi ni Jaime.
“Teach the parents to teach their kids to love their country . Not the government not the school,” reply ng isang netizen.
Sey naman ng isa, “with due respect. the objective of rotc doesnt only focus on love of the country. but also with trainings to become a military reservists. that during in time of war hindi lang sila basta basta sila mamatay na nakikipaglaban dahil sa pagmamahal sa bayan.”

“With all due respect Gen. Borja, kelangan din po ng basic training. Yes they will defend the country, but how? E di statistics nalang sila apg nagkataon. Not all people are like Cardo Dalisay, unli lives at hindi tinatablan ng bala at saksak,” dagdag naman ng isa.
Bagamat wala pang kumpirmasyon kung tuluyan na bang magbabalik ang ROTC sa kolehiyo na napalitan ng National Service Training Program o NSTP.
Samantala, wala na rin ang CAT at COCC na itinuturo noon sa hayskul ngunit nananatili ang boy scouts at girl scouts sa elementarya.
Si Jaime ay bahagi ng longest running aksyonserye na “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” kung saan gumaganap siya bilang si Lolo Delfin.
