Sharon 6 years nang kinakarir ang fitness journey; nabiktima rin ng body shaming

ANIM na taon na ring kinakarir ni Megastar Sharon Cuneta ang kanyang fitness journey at kitang-kita naman ngayon ang napakabonggang resulta nito.

Super payat na nga ni Mega at kinumpirma niyang mula sa size na XXL ay medium na ang mga damit na isinusuot niya at sobrang feeling healthy and fit na fit na siya ngayon.

Inisa-isa ni Shawie sa nakaraang virtual mediacon ng pagpasok niya sa Kapamilya action series na “Ang Probinsyano” ang mga ginawa niya sa kanyang six-year weight loss journey. 

Aniya, hindi ang regular exercise o matinding pagwo-workout ang naging dahilan ng kanyang pagpayat kundi ang sinusunod niyang low-carb diet.

“I wish I could say that I workout regularly. But I’m not going to lie and make up a story. I don’t, eh.

“I wish I could. But if I can, I’ll just go on the treadmill. It’s healthier. And you know what, I rediscovered my love for swimming. I was in love with swimming when I was a little girl, that’s why I’m darker now. 

“I’m very, very pale eh, maputi. So now if you see my tan lines, there’s a big difference,” pahayag ni Mega.

Talagang iniwasan nang bonggang-bongga ng movie icon ang carbohydrates, “But I just kind of lessened. Nasanay na. You have to train your tummy, eh.”

“‘Di ba kasi sabi nila, when you stretch it, it will stay there ‘pag kain ka nang kain. Kapag lumiit na ng konti, madali kang mabubusog. Tsaka sanay kasi ako kasi over the years, since I was in my 20s, sanay ako ginagawa kong kanin ‘yung gulay. Thank God hindi ako mahilig sa kanin.

“Tsaka hindi ako mahilig sa sweets. ‘Yung bread tinantanan ko na rin kasi bread ‘yung weakness ko eh. ‘Yung sweets medyo nauumay na ako. Pati ‘yung mga sweet drinks hindi na rin. So ano lang, everything in moderation,” sagot pa ng aktres at singer sa tanong namin sa kanya.

Pagpapatuloy pa ng Kapamilya star, “Kasi I’ve done so many crash diets in the past, they all just rebound. ‘Yung rebound weight, grabe. Pagbalik mas malaki sa ni-lose mo so I stopped it. And harder to remove.

“I’ve been through all the diets, believe me. So more protein and less carbo. Not no carbs, just less,” sey pa niya.

Pag-amin pa niya, “It comes to a point na five years na akong naglo-lose ng weight slowly but steadily. But you reach a point that when you hit that number—there’s a certain number, you don’t know what it is—when you hit that number sa scale, tapos parang magda-drop, doon mano-notice na pumayat ka. Pero hindi nila alam, ang tagal. I’m almost half of my body.

“It’s been five years, almost six actually because I started exactly January 2016. I remember making a commitment to myself finally. It’s more for my health actually. I really made a commitment. 

“Sabi ko, I want to play with my grandkids, my future grandkids, and I want to be able to play with Miguel (bunsong anak). He’s 12 now. Miel, 17, I want to be able to enjoy K-pop with her and all. Parang I don’t want to miss out on anything so I had to commit to myself,” lahad ni Shawie.

Dagdag na hugot pa niya sa pagpapayat, “When you do it for other people or someone else or something, it’s not going to last, eh. So I had to talk to myself. Kaya mo ‘to. Has anyone questioned your self-discipline before? No. So why has it been going on this long? So I challenged myself and thank God naman.”

Samantala, natanong din namin si Sharon kung ano ang maibibigay niyang mensahe para sa mga biktima ng body shaming. Aniya, nakaranas din siya ng panglalait mula sa netizens dahil sa kanyang katawan.

“Alam n’yo hindi mawawala ‘yun ngayon in the age of social media, when everyone’s anonymous. They just have nothing better to do. So just try not to take them to heart. 

“I think listen to the people who you really know and know you, who can tell you face to face, in a loving way, na, ‘Take care of your health because it’s not healthy to be this big,’ or ganyan. But don’t na lang pay attention to those na just want to ruin your day. Why will you let them?” tugon ni Mega.

“Sanay na tayo dapat. I’m more sanay na now, eh. I’ve made that mistake in, my God, my early days on Twitter nine years ago. Kasi nagugulat ako ‘yung dati papatulan mo halos. Sabi ko, ‘Teka nga muna, what are you doing?’ It’s a long time ago, and I learned. 

“Don’t let them ruin your day. You’re giving them power. Ngayon I just block eh. If I even read them. Kasi usually when I post something, if I don’t have the time, hindi ako nakakabasa ng comments. Tsaka may admin ako, sila na bahala,” sey pa ng aktres.
